US Corporations Are Filing For Bankruptcy At The Fastest Pace Since 2010

US Corporations Are Filing For Bankruptcy At The Fastest Pace Since 2010

One would not know it from looking at the S&P which just hit a 2023 high, but there is a bit of a bankruptcy crisis sweeping the US where companies are filing for bankruptcy at the fastest pace in 13 years, in a clear sign of a tightening credit squeeze as interest rates rise and financial markets have locked out all but the strongest borrowers. The increase is most visible among large companies, where there were 236 bankruptcy filings in the first four months of this year, more than double 2022 levels, and the fastest YTD pace since 2010 according to S&P Global Market Intelligence.

2010? That was Obama's first term. This is his third term.

A whole lot of hurt awaits everyone, and I know no one is ready for it.

The fact that companies are failing is more or less common sense. Many companies do most of their business around Christmas. What has happened for 2 Christmas's in a row? They were closed down because of Covid. But not just their big earning time, but most of 2 years. What company did that help? Any company that did a lot of on line business. The others were dying. And if they can't borrow to stay in business, they will go under. biden & the democrats killed them twice with a 1-2 punch.

Corporations don't file for bankruptcy. People running corporations file for the corporation to go bankrupt. Maybe they, too, have learned how to make money personally of declaring bankruptcy for a company.

Besides running Nevada casinos, the Mafia also was into taking control of companies, draining them dry, and declaring bankruptcy.
