Until he produces a platform, we won't know exactly what DeSantis' positions are on many things. The one thing we can probably expect from all (ALL) candidates running for the Republican nomination is that they want to flush the 'woke' toilet and send all the America-hating, hyperliberal shit in all parts of government out to the sewer -- forever! At this very early point, approximately 18 months away from the election, that's at least a good starting point for anyone who calls him or herself a genuine Conservative!
Give hero DANIEL PENNY a medal for suppressing a dangerous public menace in New York!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: candidates running for the presidential nomination of a party should announced their running mate early in the competition. I mean they are supposed to be a team… and the selected running mate certainly says something about where they stand on matters of importance.

Trump helped DeSantis get reelected and I don't think these guys are at each others throats, what I think is going on is forcing the never Trumpet's aside with Trump 50% ahead of DeSantis and Pence so far back he cannot be seen the the rear view mirror.

If Trump is nominated he will win even with all of the voter corruption, while DeSantis is a gamble, this sticks the NT's in a corner, support Trump or it's Biden for four more years and by then then will never be another Presidential Election in the US ever again without a serious revolution and I don't see that happening short of a civil war.

So what happens is Trump gets the nomination and picks DeSantis as VP, if played properly this sets up twelve years of real conservative Republican leadership.

IMO DeSantis wants the presidency and would have no problem waiting four years to get another endorsement from Trump for the job.

It's a choice that really puts the NT's in a corner, Biden and it is all over or four years of Trump, then eight of DeSantis.

I think that is a choice that will force them to su*k it up and support Trump.

I keep seeing comments such as those - DeSantis was great as governor but because he will have to work with a divided legislature in DC lets not support him.

And Trump will be successful in that environment? Trump was not successful in his first term and he started with an all GOP Congress. The only positive from Trump that you can point to is he appointed 3 SCOTUS judges (that is important) and he delayed the democrats for 4 years. Thats it, as soon as Biden walked into the white house every Trump action was reversed, nothing else Trump did was permanent.

What else did Trump do? He repeatedly appointed his enemies to important jobs. That was probably his #1 flaw and a big reason he failed. Has he learned his lesson? I don't know, he sure hasn't done anything to suggest he learned the lesson.

He let the scamdemic run wild, I haven't seen anything that shows he admits the mistake. He was bad for 2A, he did absolutely nothing to expand gun rights, but he motivated and pushed the bump stock ban which set the precedent that is now the means for expanding gun control. How many of his 100 Day Promises did he keep? Less than half.

Trump was in that difficult environment and failed, but a big reason was he committed suicide by appointing his enemies to all the important jobs. DeSantis has an easier political environment but has been wildly successful in promoting a solid conservative agenda.

The questions is not whether or not DeSantis should be in the White House, but why Trump should be back in the WH. Maybe you can explain why Trump?

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.

Maybe start your own thread, this one is not a trash Trump thread, but a why is Desantis running thread.

Or you can pop into Knightkores Trump vs Desantis thread in the mosh and trash Trump endlessly.

He was a military lawyer. That is not quite military experience.

Trump had a purpose for seeking the High Chair. It was for the good of America. To clean up the crap in our filthy and corrupt government. Does DeSantis have a purpose? A noble one? Oh, he has a slogan. To take America back. Back to what? Bush? Clinton? What?

I would like to read what folks think is behind the DeSantis candidacy. What is it, or who is it? Thanks, folks.

If you are like me I smell something rotten about this. Real rank stink.
The GOP Establishment's Rino donors bought him. It's as simple as that. Trump helped him get elected.

I think if I lived in Florida I'd be pissed, he just won a second term as Governor and he is already running for President

The bizarre part is he is running on what Trump is running on

I think DeSantis is doing a great job in florida, why didn't he just wait till 2024. Something pushed him into the 2024 mix, was it his ego or was he pushed by other wealthy people that hate Trump
