I concur with the bolded part above. Things that are obvious to us are not to the younger generation. If you can explain it once and they comply, they got it. If they still look at you with a Deer in the headlight look in their eyes, They just aren't getting it.

The smarter ones will understand your request and try to comply but nothing is obvious to them at all. It all has to be spelled out in a procedure of some sort. There is no room for critical thinking skills.

Picture the sale....

I get a bottle that's $14. I had 2 x $2 coins...so...I check to see if I had either a ten or two fives. Nope...just a $20 and some $50's...so...like you would do...I handed over the $20 and the two $2's....

He was really puzzled...he gave me a $5 bill, one $1 coin and one $2 coin...for $8.00 all up, adding, "You gave me too much." Yeah...short changing me $2 in the process.

"Dude! Did you go to school???" (He looks...18-ish.)

The comment from me was entirely appropriate. The two guys behind me grinned and came close to their own face-palms. The guy right behind me said...as I left, "I have exact change." He said it loudly...ready to crack up.

I am fed up with these beain-dead, stoners. The 50-something asshat that said I didn't need to be rude's probably as stoooopid as the idjit.

Got it. Trying to get rid of the coins and get a single bill makes perfect sense. With that kind of money, you would think the youngster would know, everyone should know, how to get rid of the extra weight to get a paper bill.

And yep, that older stock person can be a mentor and teacher too!

Since I was a kid...bills go in my left pocket and change in my right pocket. It's EASY here to have $10 or $12 in change seeing as $2 coins are very common.

Besides...Matt's always running out of coins...and, fivers...so, I try to pay that way.

Would any of YOU people want a kid like that on YOUR cash register???
