we dont know, because we dont know how far it will go once an AI is self aware and sentient which WILL occur at sometime, heralding the Technological Singularity.

But there is most definitely no limit to how far AI can go, because there is potentially almost no limit to quantum .
For an GAI to be classified as ‘sentient’, it must first fulfil two requirements: first, the rule set must be capable of being self-aware, and secondly, the rule set must be able to be classified as ‘conscious’. As of right now, humanity has already created several rule sets capable of rudimentary self-awareness, many of which are capable of analysing and adapting to their surroundings without prompts from code. However, although humanity is capable of creating robots that can mimic a human’s consciousness and understanding of themselves/the outside world, we are havent yet been capable of this without using data from the internet, or by simply learning and understanding consciousness by themselves. But make no mistake, it will occur within the next couple of decades

When i was at Uni back the 1980's,m it was predicted that the Technological Singularity would occur no earlier than 2045 and no later than 2075. In the intervening 40 odd years huge advances have been made, and are still being made , including quantum computing, so i think you can drop that to possible 2035 or even 2030.

Furthermore.... if you weren't so full of yourself, you would have noticed that my position was stated here almost identically as you have stated yours..... an AI based entity will likely have all the functionality of a person , including growing, reproduction, self maintenance, awareness, etc. I said so multiple times.

What we call it is almost moot but the word "life" has ethical, political, sociological implications that I don't think should be used to describe this future beast we are discussing. The difference in opinion in what to call it is hardly justification for your nonsensical "invalid" accusation.

But Moores law is a fact. And thats what its driven by. I posted graphs earlier in the thread showing how progress is going logarithmic. Reality has followed Moores law to the last decimal point for the last 100 years, and theres no reason to believe it wont continue to do so, and bring the Technological Singularity as predicted by it.
