Founder David Becker Resigns As Ohio and Iowa Announce They Will Bail From “Voter Roll Maintenence” Program


On Thursday, Ohio and Iowa made 7. Seven states have jumped off the sputtering, belching, off-gassing Titanic that is ERIC, the Electronic Registration Information Center.

You see, ERIC hit an iceberg. Its name was Truth.

Ohio was withdrawing from ERIC, Secretary Frank LaRose declared, joining the growing throng of states that had voted with their feet. A few hours later, Iowa posted its notice, bringing the list of states that are abandoning ERIC to seven: Iowa, Ohio, Missouri, Florida, West Virginia, Alabama, and Louisiana.

Now, all eyes turn to Texas, whose GOP issued a letter urging their Lone Star state to abandon the sinking ship.

The original idea behind ERIC held promise in that states could share their data in order to clean up voter rolls. That promise quickly faded, however, when states soon discovered that ERIC was nothing but another leftist boondoggle that looked good on paper but failed to live up to it's claims of impartiality.

For blue states ERIC was something of a cheap insurance policy they could point to when accusations of fraudulent elections appeared in the news. "Hey look, we're doing something", provided cover for politicians at a cheap price.

For red states wanting to participate in good faith, it was one brick wall after another.
