I am hoping DeSantis will not run and stay the governor of Florida. We need him more now. Let Trump win the Presidency and then DeSantis can run to make sure the country will say on the straight and narrow.

The trouble is, Florida law. DeSantis is REQUIRED to resign the governorship if he ANNOUNCES for the Presidential election - or if he's drafted and accepts.

That puts some serious high stakes on his decision.

The law is called the Resign-To-Run law. Seems aimed at DeSantis - or another governor planning a Presidential run.

Key wording is "when a person is QUALIFIED (my emphasis) for the election."

In legalese, "qualified" means, he has all the petitions filed, has all legal requirements met, to be entered in a primary election. He has not done that, not yet.
