When I was on those two leagues years ago, from memory most of the ladies used 14s. Seems you would really have to hit the sweet spot of that headpin to get a strike with an 11.

Yes, I miss strikes because of it. Now that we're going once a week and I'm improving all the time, I'll be getting a heavier ball at some point but I'm not there yet.

Great games today. I won 2/3 but the scores were only 2 points apart. I'm picking up consistency now - bowling from the foul line is challenging because I can't get the power in the ball I need. Good throws that would be strikes are ending up spares or worse. But consistency is improving and I think I can actually make it work. I can't find anyone who bowls that way (on videos).

What is your ball weight I find that too often people use a too heavy ball that interferes with their swing of the ball.

When I used to bowl regularly, I was getting into the 220's in every 3-4 games reached a high of 265 and nearly always above 185 at the low end as I was struggling financially then I just grabbed the best ball I could find from the bowl racks often a 16 pounder which was not my ideal weight.

Got my own ball a 14 pounder when I was 15 was in a bowling league then getting a 160 average for the 1975-76 season then stupidly gave the ball away in 2008.....

I think I'm gonna wait on that ball. The pro wants me to go down to 10 so I can gain speed. The 11 lb and down has no reactive core, only a minimal reactive surface. I don't know what to do so I'll do nothing for now. /sigh I'm like "why bother"?

hmmmm..... there is something to be said for developing your technique with the ball you have. Then get the ball with the weight that works best for you.

I talked to him some more and I misunderstood about going down a lb. I'm gonna try a 12 lb house ball tomorrow but the Rhino 12 lb. looks like the one. Hell, I may change my mind again.

Tomorrow is bowling day. Yay!

He's come up with a string of liars and losers in the past year, two druggies and a lesbian with ten cats who was being evicted. Travelled across country, moved them in and moved them out. I've suggested joining a church. Would bowling be a good thing to try?
