I agree. It didn't take the Left long to still go to the "racists" play. Van Jones on CNN said the cops were acting out on white orders or some such.

They haven't explained that. He was pulled over for some simple reason and the body cams showed that the cops INSTANTLY began yelling at him. They made him kneel, then lay down, he complied and sounded sober/lucid. They kept yelling. I was confused about why they were yelling. Eventually, he took off running. He apparently was stopped only a couple of blocks from his mom's house. They gave chase, tackled him, then began repeatedly pepper spraying him.
At first, I kept hearing them screaming at him to put his hands behind his back but the fact that they were screaming at him and using that chemical multiple times makes me think he couldn't catch his breath. THAT is like drowning. Once the body dumps adrenaline and begins to demand air, all the higher order thinking goes away.
