    NFL support head hunting?

To the best of my knowledge head hunting is almost never discussed by football media or the NFL. It's a dirty little secret they seem content to ignore. Maybe it will go away?
There have been a couple of highly public instances over the years when the secret bubbled up and had to be addressed. One in the 80's I think and then Bounty Gate where saints coaches and plyers set up a monetary pool for any player that knocked Brett Farve or other specific players. Sean Peyton took the fall with just a one year suspension and it was never talked about much again. In addition the Players Association, incredibly, depended the players involved and got their suspensions dropped! They were trying to injue other platers!
A minor example occurred in the wild card playoff round where Abrams, a Seahawk defensive back, pulled on Debo Samuel's injured leg after the play was over. No flay and no fine.
In my mind the NFL encourages head hunting

Mahomes roll up had to be a big payday. In a system that promotes head hunting.

You must not have been paying attention lately, while yes it was a thing in the past. It certainly is not today, hits to the head are illegal in the NFL. A 15 yard penalty for an accidental hit, maybe even an ejection from the game if the refs deem it was on purpose.

NFL defenders have to play with one arm tied behind their backs today, the game is geared to make offense and to reduce head injuries. Defenders often must defy gravity to avoid a penalty, I watched a clip of Nick Bosa a Defensive End sack a QB and in mid fall somehow twist his body in such a way he did not land on top of the QB. If he would have landed on him, he probably would have been called for roughing the passer. It’s certainly not our fathers NFL anymore.

Many of their fans sure were. The thugs loved wearing Raider jackets and hats. The clean-cut guys wore 49'er gear.

Moving that bunch and a group of testosterone driven 20 something young men to Vegas will prove to be a disaster

How does pulling on his leg equal headhunting. You can’t even lead with your head in the NFL any more, contracting an opponents head will almost always draw a penalty now.

Back in the day when Payton was suspended I would agree with you, but now it’s gone full circle and is borderline unfair to defenders trying to do their jobs.
