Their Sarmat missiles are liquid-fueled, meaning they are a first-strike weapon, but manufacturers of them hasn't started yet, years and years behind schedule. Yep, more systemic corruption.

The Russians have been able to build and deploy some of their "hypersonic" Kinzhal missiles, but a close look at them reveals the hype doesn't live up to the weapon. It's basically an air-launched ballistic missile. EVERY ballistic missile and spacecraft is has reached hypersonic speeds. The Germans V-2 rocket achieved hypersonic speeds.

The Kinzhal missile is basically an air-launched Iskander missile, capable enough but nothing new. The "hypersonic" label is a marketing gimmick. Russia is, or was, the world second-largest arms exporter. I said "was" because of their overall dismal showing in Ukraine, which has demonstrated their T-90 tanks have the same Achillies heel as their antique T-72 tanks.

Russia NEEDS to sell a lot of arms so that it can build it's stealth fighters and other truly advanced weapons.

Right now, things don't look too good.
Or to put it another way, 2022 showed everyone that the stuff we were worried Russia had in 2021 has loooong since been sold to the black market to fund Colonel Yuri's and FSB agent Segei's Hookers, Vodka and Caviar Enterprises. In fact I'm pretty certain Russia's nuclear capability right now is about 3% of what the Soviet Union had in 1948 due to all the corruption in that country. I wouldn't be surprised if Iran, Pakistan, Syria and Turkey now share Russia's stockpile.

We are living in The Dark Side ever since Biden took office. No in two years we are not where Putin is.......but moving there at breakneck speed.

When the state feels they have equal rights over our children....insist its ok for 50-year-old men to dress in drag and wag their wang in front of our young children...that's the dark side even prohibited in Russia. Or allowing babies who survive abortion to be denied medical care.......

With Big Tech censorship.......deplatforming right wing news services like NewsMax and OAN....soon we will be left with only state-run media

I am not going to give you a laundry list of actions and recent movements by The Dark Side in this country.......and no... in two years we are not at the level of Russia.....but we are getting there rapidly.

Europe should and must be prepared to defend itself. Relying on The Great Satan for its energy needs was stupid. And expecting us to always run to its aid....sacrifice our sons and daughters every time is equally stupid. Dont blame those here that do not want to repeat the same war time mistakes of our recent past. The Idiot in TWH stated he left Afghanistan due to the cost....then breaks the bank in Ukraine? Stupid

I agree with many of your points. Th whole LGBTQ thing drives me up a wall. I don't care if that's a person's choice or identity, but for the love of God I DON'T WANT IT IN MY FACE ALL THE TIME. PLEASE.

All the globalist, deep state stuff is absolutely nothing new. As long as there have been powerful nations and empires, their goal was a globe under their control, and the kings/emperors employed a deep state.

Freedom, the idea that the government gets its rights from the people, is a recent idea, and maintaining it requires constant vigilance. Goes with the turf.

But ..... the pretzel logic idea voiced by some here that Putin is the US' savior....?????

I was born in Texas more than 70 years ago, and that idea — which UNDOUBTEDLY was hatched in the Kremlin — ranks as the most ridiculous idea I've ever heard. Ever. And we've always told a lot of tall tales in Texas.

    U.S. Energy Independence Has Grown

I am often asked if the U.S. is energy independent, or whether we have ever been energy independent. A claim I frequently encounter is that President Trump made us energy independent, and we lost that under President Biden."

If energy independence means we don't import oil, then that hasn’t been true since the 1940s. If it means we export more energy than we import, then we became energy independent in 2019 (following a decade of soaring oil and gas production), but we remain energy independent today.

Others may define energy independence as producing more than we consume. In that case, we reached that milestone in 2020. It was primarily a result of a sharp drop in consumption because of the Covid-19 pandemic, accompanied by a smaller drop in energy production that year. But, that milestone remained intact in 2021

...In 2019, our energy exports were greater than our imports by 0.61 quadrillion Btus (quads). In 2020, that excess grew to 3.47 quads (mainly because imports fell as Covid hit demand) and in 2021 it grew to a new record of 3.82 quads. By that measure, we are more energy independent than we have ever been.

Please take a look at the article as it explains in detail.
You wanna play that 'game' !?!

Why would we export slightly more oil than we import?

In 2021, the United States exported about 8.54 million barrels per day (b/d) and imported about 8.47 million b/d of petroleum,1 making the United States an annual total petroleum net exporter for the second year in a row since at least 1949. Total petroleum net exports were about 0.06 million b/d in 2021, and total petroleum net exports in 2020 were 0.63 million b/d. Also in 2021, the United States produced2 about 18.77 million b/d of petroleum and consumed3 about 19.89 million b/d. Even though U.S. annual total petroleum exports were greater than total petroleum imports in 2020 and 2021, the United States still imported some crude oil and petroleum products from other countries to help to supply domestic demand for petroleum and to supply international markets.
Oil imports and exports - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

That's the biggest crock of shit ever. Why in the whole wide world of f'in shit would we export and then turn around and import ???? Gotta be some sort of money game or shaking the hand of the one who's wiping your ass. Just a guess.

    ETA: Independence ? sure

Sure, because it's not about the oil and was never about the oil.

    It's all about the refining.

Good that you mentioned our refinery capability, which is barley sufficient. And even giving refineries that much credit is debatable. That's gov's fault, not the lack of entrepreneurs.

Hell yeah, it's bullshit. And from whom did you first hear the claim? It was blulshit the first time those words left Trump's lips.

So damn me for going along with the RW fantasy. I deserve it.

The article I linked does a pretty good job of explaining how it's both right and wrong to say the ÛS is energy independent. If you play with the words just right, the way Trump did, we are.

If you take a few steps back and look at the big picture, we weren't and aren't.

    I draw my own conclusions.

    @EGarak

Interesting that you are "pretty certain" about Russia's capabilities. Just like you were so certain that Putin invaded Russia over Nazi's and it had nothing to do with NATO. Remember?

WRONG!!! You prove you are being manipulated by the propaganda. Putin gave 2 speeches explaining the invasion.

Putin starts the speech as follows:
"I will begin with what I said in my address on February 21, 2022. I spoke about our biggest concerns and worries, and about the fundamental threats which irresponsible Western politicians created for Russia consistently, rudely and unceremoniously from year to year. I am referring to the eastward expansion of NATO, which is moving its military infrastructure ever closer to the Russian border."

Matthew 22:36-40 What is the greatest commandment?
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.

I believe everything a politician says. And, I see no reason why a nation's leader would deceive anyone.

There's gotta be a place for that statement in Ripley's Believe it or Not.
