I harped on Biden over being half assed in this war. By holding back what Ukraine needs to finish Russia off faster.
What about the nearly obsolete A-10 Thunderbolt. That fighter is designed to take out armor quickly. Sending in the Abrams now though welcomed by me is half assed since it should have been sent to Ukraine last year.

Look readers, I do not want war. I never have wanted wars. But we have messed up in past wars. Witness Vietnam and lastly Afghanistan. Bush used a very clever plan to conquer Afghanistan. Due to Bush Afghanistan was able to have a functioning Democratic form of Government. We all know Trump wanted out. But on his terms and not on the taliban's terms.

So who joins me in praising the entrance of our top tank to defeat Russia?
    @Robert

Its a stupid move unless US or NATO soldiers man the tanks.

First, the original Ukraine military has suffered major casualties and are not available. That means its basic recruits manning the Ukraine army and will require a lot of training in basic military thinking and activities much less the use of Western high tech equipment.

Second, Ukraine military is based on Soviet style (Russian) weapons and armour, thats radically different from Western armour which is heavily based on electronics. Ukraine personnel will have to be trained to operate these tanks and how to use them, their weaknesses and strengths, new tactics. Its a radical change and it won't happen quickly.

Third, training will be difficult. Can Ukraine recruits read manuals and labels and software in Polish or English or Finnish? The manuals and labels and software displays are not in Russian or Ukrainian. Who is going to operate and repair and equip these tanks?

The Abrams master gunner course in the US army is 6 weeks. Thats after the 15 week course to be an armor crewman. Is Ukraine going to wait 5 months before fielding tanks with well trained and capable crew? I doubt it, they will rush the training and get the tanks out in the field with a crew that barely knows how to operate the tank.

In this age when everyone thinks tech is king, people forget its not the machine its the man in the machine thats important. An untrained person in the best tank in the world is going to get killed when he goes up against reasonably trained infantry or armour.

You forgot to mention Bush Defense Sec Rumsfeld who would not allow the appropriate number of troops to be sent to Iraq, it was a disaster and a lot of good people were killed because of it. Gen. Shinseki pointed out the flaw and Rumsfeld ruined his career. Bush backed up his buddy "Rummy" and would not change the clearly failed strategy insisting all was well with the Iraq war. Until after Bush was re-elected, then it changed. For Bush and "Rummy" it was politics above people.

You're counting on the Son of Satan to defend the child of God? That's a good one, best joke I've heard all year.

You've grossly underestimated the power of the Dark Side, which accounts for your apparent blindness.

Your life in a democratic society, your ability to criticize your government publicly, what was "forced" upon you is next to nothing compared to what is forced onto Russian citizens every breath of their lives. They had a break in the 90s but then the Son of Satan appeared and stopped all that freedom nonsense.

Back to the USSR the only difference being a state church that now is headed by a former KGB agent. SMFH.

Your warnings are speculations of your fear-infused mind.

I'm a plant? For opposing the Son of Satan with all my heart and soul? You revealed yourself. You embrace as close to the antichrist as the world has seen since WWII. Fact.

Regardless, modern battle tanks are long overdue in Ukraine.

Really, consider moving to Russia to calm your globalist fears, just make sure you never criticize Putin.

I have a feeling you are from The UK..........which I can understand your different viewpoint given Europe's history with war.....and insistence The US once again runs to its defense.

We are living in The Dark Side ever since Biden took office. No in two years we are not where Putin is.......but moving there at breakneck speed.

When the state feels they have equal rights over our children....insist its ok for 50-year-old men to dress in drag and wag their wang in front of our young children...that's the dark side even prohibited in Russia. Or allowing babies who survive abortion to be denied medical care.......

With Big Tech censorship.......deplatforming right wing news services like NewsMax and OAN....soon we will be left with only state-run media

Our DOJ....FBI are starting to resemble the KGB.

I am not going to give you a laundry list of actions and recent movements by The Dark Side in this country.......and no... in two years we are not at the level of Russia.....but we are getting there rapidly.

Europe should and must be prepared to defend itself. Relying on The Great Satan for its energy needs was stupid. And expecting us to always run to its aid....sacrifice our sons and daughters every time is equally stupid. Dont blame those here that do not want to repeat the same war time mistakes of our recent past. The Idiot in TWH stated he left Afghanistan due to the cost....then breaks the bank in Ukraine? Stupid

A long-extended conflict........... is not in Russia's interest.

But an eventual quick and devastating blow.........yes a definite possibility.

Seems to me they been reluctant to go that far..... but I think if The West continues poking the bear.....and threatening The Bear..... given the disfunction and weakness within The Biden regime....at some point using these game changing weapons may appear to them more logical.

And what will The West do then? Are we willing to match their escalation? I dont think so as it took Biden and Germany a long time to come around just approving the tanks.

And please don't associate my opinion as being supportive of Russia. Best case scenario is they are drawn into a stalemate and retreat.....or Putin loses power in Russia. But dont misunderstand the harsh winter months with the coming spring and summer offensive push.

The current state of the conflict is draining their arsenal......as it is ours. We are taking weapons and ammo from Korea and Israel to give to Ukraine.......all the while the 800Ib gorilla......China continues to build. Read yesterday it will take years to replenish what we lost in Afghanistan during Bidens disastrous exit and now what Biden is giving Ukraine. I don't think we can look at the Ukraine situation in a vacuum

Anybody else see a plausible one - two punch coming?
Russia's most formidable weapons? What are they? Due to systemic corruption they can't produce their T-14 tank, which on paper looks pretty good but keeps stalling in parades.

Their stealth fighter is joke, but due to that sytemic corruption, they can't build any of those either.

Their Sarmat missiles are liquid-fueled, meaning they are a first-strike weapon, but manufacturers of them hasn't started yet, years and years behind schedule. Yep, more systemic corruption.

The Russians have been able to build and deploy some of their "hypersonic" Kinzhal missiles, but a close look at them reveals the hype doesn't live up to the weapon. It's basically an air-launched ballistic missile. EVERY ballistic missile and spacecraft has reached hypersonic speeds. The Germans V-2 rocket achieved hypersonic speeds.

The Kinzhal missile is basically an air-launched Iskander missile, capable enough but nothing new. The "hypersonic" label is a marketing gimmick. Russia is, or was, the world second-largest arms exporter. I said "was" because of their overall dismal showing in Ukraine, which has demonstrated their T-90 tanks have the same Achillies heel as their antique T-72 tanks.

Russia NEEDS to sell a lot of arms so that it can build it's stealth fighters and other truly advanced weapons.

Right now, things don't look too good.

    U.S. Energy Independence Has Grown

I am often asked if the U.S. is energy independent, or whether we have ever been energy independent. A claim I frequently encounter is that President Trump made us energy independent, and we lost that under President Biden."

If energy independence means we don't import oil, then that hasn’t been true since the 1940s. If it means we export more energy than we import, then we became energy independent in 2019 (following a decade of soaring oil and gas production), but we remain energy independent today.

Others may define energy independence as producing more than we consume. In that case, we reached that milestone in 2020. It was primarily a result of a sharp drop in consumption because of the Covid-19 pandemic, accompanied by a smaller drop in energy production that year. But, that milestone remained intact in 2021

...In 2019, our energy exports were greater than our imports by 0.61 quadrillion Btus (quads). In 2020, that excess grew to 3.47 quads (mainly because imports fell as Covid hit demand) and in 2021 it grew to a new record of 3.82 quads. By that measure, we are more energy independent than we have ever been.
