Because that is the only way to stop them from spending. Money for Ukraine, money for Africa, money for illegals, money for causes, money for art, money for COVID, welfare for the poor, welfare for the rich, money for studies, money , money, money.
And with it influence and obligation and all of it, all of it dripping with both both corruption, controlism and inefficiency.
All of which, of course, cost more money.
I thought, foolishly, that they might blink in the wake of the COVID debt. But that was not to be. In fact all pretense is now gone. We are busy with our tribalism "gotcha's" u-tubes and outrage so they no longer even give lip service to curbing spending. Well the big government repubs at least pretend. But that's about it.

Perhaps you missed the news that Saudi Arabia will soon accept BRICS money instead of the US Dollar.

This will lead to the globe tossing the US Dollar as Reserve Currency, which will inhibit our ability to borrow.

Thats why their spending is through the roof, and their corruption is through the roof, they are grabbing as much US$ as possible while it still has value and are using it to buy stuff (gold, land, houses, businesses, etc). Essentially, they are looting the nation.
