I really loved John Paul and Benedict was someone I knew almost nothing about, but apparently he was very "traditional" and respected. I'm glad to see this come out on Francis and would like to see him forced out and the CC return to piety and adherence to the Bible.
The RCC forever has been the home of diddling priests. A friend went to a very well-known and "respected" Catholic prep school. The Jesuits were party animals. The priests were diddlers. This happening 60 years ago.

The RCC has been progressive for almost all of its existence. it created doctrines to suit. It invented the Trinity. It invented a hell of eternal conscious torment. And about Mary.

Scripture actually has very little to say about Mary. There’s no description of her physical appearance, nothing about her life, her later years after Christ’s death, or her own death and burial. And when she does briefly appear with the disciples and the other believers on the day of Pentecost, she’s not an object of worship or even a leader in the early church—she’s just one among many. There simply are no biblical examples of anyone ever praying to her, honoring her, or venerating her.

Nor does she play a role in any biblical explanation of the gospel. Paul wrote a magnificent treatise on the doctrine of salvation that we know as the book of Romans, and all he said about the mother of Jesus is that she was “a descendent of David” (Romans 1:3). He’s even less specific in Galatians, another lengthy exposition of the pure, true gospel in which he simply said that Christ was “born of a woman” (Galatians 4:4).

The Roman Church, Constantine's Church, put itself in between the believer and God when Christ clearly said call no man rabbi. Call no man father. Clearly.

    And the Pope.....

As the head of the Roman Catholic Church, the pope is often called the “Holy Father” and the “Vicar of Christ”—names and roles that only apply to God. He claims the ability to speak ex cathedra, exercising Godlike infallibility to add to and augment Scripture (Revelation 22:18). He wields unbiblical, unholy authority over his followers, usurping the headship of Christ and perverting the work of the Holy Spirit.

The Reformers understood that and declared it with unashamed boldness. As Martin Luther wrote to a friend, “We here are of the conviction that the papacy is the seat of the true and real Antichrist. . . . Personally I declare that I owe the Pope no other obedience than that to Antichrist.

I am a universalist Christian, meaning I believe in God's total victory over sin and death. zI'm not judging any individual Christian. The RCC may be a good fit for some, and hallelujah for that.

But one Pope criticizing another Pope is the tiniest baby step toward exposing the 1,700 years of heresies overseen by the Roman Catholic Church.

Evil is in its throes of death....thrashing around everywhere.

When these people are exposed, whether it is in the area of religion or government, we need to be strong and demand the death penalty for treason in the places it has been committed. Christians within every church needs to stand firmly against corruption found and outed there.

We cannot say "Oh they didn't mean to do it"......."Oh they just made a mistake"..........No. They meant to do it and it wasn't just some small error in judgment. The penalty must be paid for heresy and treason.

I was a devout Irish Catholic, Alter Boy, the whole commitment. I dumped Catholicism aged 14. I saw the total hypocrisy. I knew nothing of Priests molesting boys. I just saw its immense wealth compared to its claims on "helping the poor"??! That was enough for me. The best of this is my ordinary hard working parents never attempted to stop me or my 5 siblings from choosing to leave the church.

Pope Francis says homosexuality not a crime

In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Pope Francis said that homosexuality is not a crime. The comments come after posthumous allegations by Pope Benedict that the church was being pushed by a progressive agenda under Francis, and that Catholic seminaries were being used as "gay clubs."
Francis said in the interview that laws criminalizing homosexuality are "unjust," and called on Catholic bishops to welcome LGBTQ people into the church.

The Church, in the past, has recovered from the Borgia popes, anti-popes, the inquisition, persecution of science etc. Recovering from this pope is going to be a big hurdle.

Nope and I'm discovering that Orthodox Christianity around here seems to be growing. Can Catholicism survive Pope Dingbat?

Orthodox is probably the most based of all the denominations, but overall, none of them seem to be very effective at countering Marxist depravity.

If people have a choice between depravity and virtue they'll choose depravity every time. Seems to be a human weakness.

Of course, churches are big religion businesses so like all businesses they need to grow and if depravity fills the pews and coffers than depravity it is.

Meh, the Roman Catholic Church has always been more "corporate" than Christian.
It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either of them. Mark Twain
