I was born in New Orleans LA and lived there until I was seven. We then moved to Asheville NC. When I was 13 we moved to Jacksonville FL. At the age of 20 I moved back to New Orleans. My parents had moved to Baltimore MD by this point so a year later, while waiting to go on active duty with the Navy I moved to Baltimore. When I got out of the Navy I moved to Baltimore and attended the University of Maryland. Then at the age of 32 I moved back to Jacksonville then to East Tennessee and finally now to Ocala Florida. The purpose of this screed is to point out my accent is impossible to pinpoint since the Nawlings accent is quite different from the Ashvull, which is diffent from the drawl of the North Florida accent which is different from the Bawlmer accent. All of which have nothing to do with the Appalachian accent of the East Tennessee mountains. Although I only lived 50 miles from Asheville when I lived in East Tennessee there was a pronounced difference in accents. Think Dolly Parton vs Loretta Lynn
