    Londanistan?
If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.

God created men, Col. Colt made them equal.

When I was in high school I picked up two men walking down a lonely stretch of highway. They were merchant seamen who's ship had put in at Fernandina Beach. They had two days off and were walking to Miami. I told them it was 380 miles and they showed me their map. It was a placemat from a restaurant with a map of the U.S. Jacksonville and Miami were an inch apart. I took them back to Fernandina and as the one guy was speaking I asked the other, "What language is that?"

"It's English. He's from Northern Ireland." I couldn't understand a word he was saying. The sailor from London had to translate.

I like the bit that says Americans That Think They're Irish.

That's a bit like Americans that think they've seen London in a week long hotel visit, from shopping in the West End (Oxford Street) and visiting the Tower of London.

I’d urge any visiting American to buy an Oyster card from a card dispenser and just jump on a tube. They should spend half a day jumping on different lines (routes) It’s a huge city. They could jump off at Arsenal station and enjoy the North London street scene. A quaint old London boozer only 200ft away from the exit. After a quick shifty jump on a tube to Boston Manor, a bit of a walk to a boozer but nearby you can buy a kebab…. Wonderful experiences!

The could stick with the Circle line to avoid confusion.

Two things I remember from my basic training are your rasping when approaching the counter for one of your compulsory three daily meals. And your vomiting when you left the Mess Hall three minutes later.

What are these 'Smart' phone things? Mine only remembers the phone numbers I list as associates/friends.

    .

I think the regional differences and uniqueness of the UK and Ireland are lost on Americans for a simple reason. My Scottish, Scot-Irish, Irish, and English ancestors all got along fabulously. In fact, they interbred like rabbits! On this side of the pond, everybody seemingly forgot all their differences.

I'd stick to the bigger cities.

In small villages like Grantchester and Kembleford somebody get's murdered every week.
