Found out the Daughters dinner is 15 people, made a big bowl of tater salad and congealed salad for the herd. Son in laws brother had two boys to get married last Month knowing the boys these girls will be like supermodels.

With all the people little girl will have her work cut out for her. Guess we will be helping clean up her house tomorrow morning.

Everyone brings something so we will probably have too much and a tummy ache.

Hope all of you get plenty and have plenty left for your furries.

I cooked stuffing (probably more accurately Dressing, not in bird...) all night. Old family recipe with Hot Pork Sausage and ground beef and cheap white bread. To Die For!!!!!!!!
Will also make homemade gravy, it's a moral imperative.

Tomorrow cooking an 18lb Turkey. MrsPH baking pies, apple and butternut squash (tastes Exactly like Pumpkin!), she's also making green bean casserole.

Gonna eat with friends and their kids, upwards of a dozen of us. Somebody is bringing a Ham, looking forward to that. Turkey and Ham go great together!

    I prefer ham....spiral ham specifically.

I have never heard of ham being the centerpiece for either a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal, and find that somewhat odd. Ham is sometimes served a secondary side main dish, but there is usually something else. Probably much more likely to be a centerpiece for Christmas than Thanksgiving. Turkey or other birds (cornish hen, chicken) are still the most popular Christmas dish, with ham in second place. Sometimes it can be brisket, only a popular possible choice with half of Americans. Goose is a much less popular choice. Maybe only 1 out of 5 Americans have had goose for Christmas more than once. That goes back to English times.

On the same day you guys were celebrating thanksgiving I was given the choice at our hotel of having either roast lamb or turkey for dinner, I chose the roast lamb with mint gravy.
