My father carried a BAR during WW2. He said the gun and ammo were all quite heavy and he was a constant target.

What are they trying to accomplish? A military looking hunting rifle? Doesn't do much for me.

At $4000, I could think a lot of better arms with $1500 in ammunition, to choose from.

The old ones had a bipod stand on the front for a reason. My uncles liked shooting the thing, they had the 1918 version, and they also had my Granpa's Springfield '03 so they could use the same ammo in both. They liked the 'shooter/spotter' game, where one would sight a target a long way off with binoculars while the other would be the shooter; the spotter would then direct the shooter on where his rounds were hitting. Borig to watch as a kid but they were both Forward Observers for arty companies in WW II and Korea and got off on it.

But what is it going to be used for? That's the question. I doubt it will be full auto because of the 1986 Gun Control Act. The military has no use for it. I doubt if the police have any use for it. I don't know of any competition type that would have use for it so what's it good for?

Maybe that's why it was ready EIGHT YEARS AGO and nobody has heard of it since?

That's the primary reason for buying most of the toys out there. They aren't really useful for much that hasn't already been developed and for a cheaper price. Look at what those feral hog hunters prefer, for instance.

Not all of them look like something out of a weirdo's comic book.
