    Everyone likes Italian food...

    ...but, Italians love Calabrese food!

Got reservations for tomorrow night. Another first date.

I am adamant about Calabrese food being the best of Italy. Having a Calabrese kitchen, here...is a lucky find for me.

The black mussels...in broth...with fresh cooked bread from the oven to you...is amazing. A beaut Italian red with it...is awesome.

The melanzane??? Ferget it! The godz own food!

Eh! What else can I say???

I love the black mussels (cozze) in broth. That was one of my favorites. I enjoyed the food of all the different areas of Italy. Of course I mostly ate Sardinian food since that's where we lived. I was partial to octopus salad.... or calamari (fried)...

Mexican food is my favorite followed by Italian. Third is Greek. I do like plain old American food even though I tend to Mexicanize it.

My brother is 4 years older than me, I remember him coming home around 10pm one night when I was 13 with a takeaway Chinese meal, chicken chow mein with rice.

My mother of course asked what it was? He told her and she replied “don’t bring that foreign muck in the house again!”

My mother was brought up by aging very Victorian parents and as you can imagine adopted those ideals. All foreign muck was off the menu in our house… eggo steako chippo was the mid week fare. Beef joint, potatoes, cabbage, peas, and carrots on a Sunday…. Without fail.

Italian food? I’ve never tried anything else except spag bog, Curries that’s a different matter, I’ll eat chicken madra/vindaloo no problem. All other foreign muck forget it.

Don't stumble into a chain...like Olive Garden, etc. Look for a family bizz that has an obvious full house.......

In italy, the food is considered best in Naples. However each region cooks different and usually where they are from and raised on is what they call the best.

American Italians its the same way, your favorite is what your mother cooked. Mine cooked sicilian with a mix of foggiano <from foggia> the foggiano comes from my fathers mother and sisters.
