Yeah, between Taiwan and China, America has NO diplomatic ties and no defense agreements with Taiwan.

Why are you ignoring history of the region?

IPCC TAR Chapter 14 Page 773 Paragraph 14.2.2 Predictability in a Chaotic System

In climate research and modelling, we should recognise that we are dealing with a coupled non-linear chaotic system, and therefore that the long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible.

(Hey...I bet if you ask Pooh-Bear, he could tell you how Japan is actually a part of China...)
Do you realize that China has control of 21 South American and Central American countries and most likely Chinese mercenaries have invaded through our Southern border?

Do you realize that the container terminal in Long Beach CA is controlled by the Chinese?

Do you know that the Chinese are operating with the Drug Cartels and that the Chinese Mafia is fully integrated into these cartels?

The point being if we are really concerned about China don't you think maybe just maybe we ought to concern ourselves with the Chinese on our Southern border and controlling our container terminals?

I don't give a crap about Taiwan but I do care about China taking over South and Central America and our container ports. I do care about the Chinese Mafia integrating into the Drug Cartels.

Not for us nobody blockading us. I've never seen so many stupid and ignorant people as I've seen on this board lately.

I don't see the real question being asked, what was the climate change impact of Pelosi's trip? Priorities need to be set.

Pelosi is just the latest stupid American with an irrational obsession over Taiwan.

    Anti War

Nancy Pelosi’s Utterly Reckless Election-Season Gambit

by David Stockman Posted onAugust 03, 2022
    Excerpt:

We don’t know how it could have been any clearer than this warning from Chicom mouthpiece and ultra-hawk, Hu Xijin. Prior to America’s other senile leader putting herself in harms’ way by touching down in Taiwan today, Xijin let loose a volley of histrionics that left little doubt as to where Beijing stood:

"If US fighter jets escort Pelosi’s plane into Taiwan, it is invasion," Hu Xijin of Global Times wrote on Twitter. "The [Chinese military] has the right to forcibly dispel Pelosi’s plane and the US fighter jets, including firing warning shots and making tactical movement of obstruction. If ineffective, then shoot them down."

For want of doubt, an official Chinese spokesman chimed in shortly thereafter:

At a daily press briefing on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying reiterated China’s opposition to Mrs. Pelosi’s visiting Taiwan……No matter for what reason Pelosi goes to Taiwan, it will be a stupid, dangerous and unnecessary gamble," Ms. Hua said. "It is difficult to imagine a more reckless and provocative action."
She got that right. Pelosi has now completed an utterly "stupid, dangerous and unnecessary gamble", and for what earthly purpose?

Mainly to provide obeisance to the dead hand of history, we’d say. Indeed, there is no more egregious case of the latter than Washington’s 75-year obsession with the political status of Taiwan.

A law that was put in place to appease a situation at a given time does not mean that that law is still relevant. I have said many times on here that I believe we have too many marriage laws on the books. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the church allowed the government to hijack marriage. Now, should there be no marriage laws at all? Obviously, having legal documentation so that you have power of attorney is useful.

Your attempt to whitewash against a legal Congressional law signed by the President in December 1978 looks silly since it is the LAW that still in force today.

Why don't you go read it?

    Let's get 'em!

    Or, surrender.

I doubt I can go down personally to chase Chinese mercenaries out or South America, but...I'm not much for surrendering ANY sovereignty to Chinese Totalitarians.

I do, however, have enough faith left in my nation to think that the US can stand on our own. If not, then, well, I guess there is nothing that can be done, we are just all doomed to a Sino-Russian dark age.

Fortunately, I will be pushing daisies by then.
