I have no problem with him being shot, but make it interactive and entertaining. Put him in a golf course (so he can't easily escape and lots of people can watch the show). Select 12 marksmen from the community with .22LR rifles (so he will suffer a bit before death). Give him a 30 second head start, then the executioners hunt him down, dragging the fun out for as long as possible with leg shots, gut shots, and knee shots. Let people bet on all aspects (how far he gets in his head start, how long it will take for him to die, the number of shots, which shooter will administer the coup de grace, and when the inmate will say, "Mama!"). Donate the money to charity, the victims family, or use it to buy ammo for the next execution.

Somehow, I'm thinking this case took a while to get to the US Supreme Court. During that time, of course, Mr Nance continued to live. My bet is that this case was just one more way to delay the final outcome.

I don't know if I buy the reasoning, but, hell..let him go as he wishes.

For my part, laying down, getting a little pinprick and just going to sleep for ever is perhaps the EASIEST way to go.

As for "shooting squad," I would ask if I could get one "executioner" to put the gun at the base of my skull and do it that way. I would feel nothing. Kinda messy, but..I wouldn't need to worry about that part....
