Why Simone Biles decided not to compete in Tokyo

So, I was looking through some videos when I stumbled across a video of Simone Biles and why she decided not to compete at Tokyo. Apparently, she was abused at the hands of team doctor Larry Nassar, who, according to reports, abused up to 150 women. Fortunately, he's serving up to 175 years in prison. As much as I sympathize with her in regards to her enduring that abuse and can see that suddenly catching up to her in regards to not competing at Tokyo, I far more respect Tamyra Mensah-Stock because of how much more she appreciates living in America.

Geez, these long intros on youtube reports, where the narrator repeats, at least 3 times, often many more times, the build up to that main point, is excruciating.
When Degeneres is involved I tend to switch off as a matter of course.
