Fantastic concept if it weren't for the need for mutual self defense. If it weren't for that the 13 colonies would have become 13 states. The next best option might be another Constitution which makes things even clearer. The central authority overseas foreign affairs and regulation that should be uniform and absolutely necessary ( Like big pharma). We'll let courts handle inter state disputes this time and have plenty of tech to handle nation wide man hunts without Alphabet soup agencies

The colonies did become 13 state. When the USA fails we'll break up into smaller units and if a national state us needed hopefully it will be a confederacy. Another federacy is pure stupid.
