Arch Manning commits to the Texas Longhorns.

Word is Manning can expect to get about $10 million in endorsements for Name, Image, and Likeness during his college career.

Now that the big decision of which college to attend is behind him he will have another big one to make shortly. The top running back at Texas chose to drive a Lamborghini so maybe Manning will choose a Ferrari just to be different.

Personally, I'd go Bentley but I'm not 18 anymore.

I'm a little bit shocked. From the title I thought it would be the lifetime cost of each illegal coming into the country during their lifetime.

I’m guessing he is one of the Manning brothers son’s, but I don’t know which one or anything else about him.

I would bet that he works out a system to "share" the money with his team mates.

Which will help the Longhorns locker room, as well as potentially bringing in good players who may not be big enough for an NIL contract.

He is the son of Cooper Manning, the oldest brother.

Cooper was going to play for Ole Miss as a Wide Receiver, but, it was discovered that he has a condition in his neck/spine that could result in paralysis if he was hit in the wrong way. He had surgery to correct it, but, could never play football again.

(Had Cooper played at Ole Miss, Peyton would have gone there, instead of Tennessee....)

Most 18-year olds don't have that kind of support system around them. Even some NFL players in their 20's end up broke after raking in millions.

That is a HUGE advantage for the Mannings.

Thus the reason both Peyton and Eli played all 4 years in College, instead of going pro earlier.

And, I can't say that either approached the game with $$$ in mind, but, rather, playing at the highest level, while still making a huge chunk of money.

They also went to class (Peyton actually "graduated" in 3 years. He just took grad classes his Senior year.), so, they have been successful OFF the field, as well.

Thanks for the info…I’m rooting for the kid also, the NFL can always use a shot of Manning class. Also for Cooper shame his career was up ended by injury, now his son has a shot.

It is my personal belief that football and basketball should morph into the baseball /hockey type pathways to the pros. A free education where you have courses so demanding that you can obsess about your sport and still get your degree while often appearing less than academically gifted.
But the way the NCAA has handled the push for pay is IMO the worst solution they could have come up with. The stories were about the poor OL who never quite made it due to injury, but we all know that isn't where the merchandizing money is going.
It has been said that money will ruin sports but I never dreamed it would get this bad.
So why not just have a legit two way path to the pros with one through college and the other through minor league ball. Want the degree take the free one and go to school. Want to focus on the game? Go make a living on your way to the pros.

Plus, I think the NCAA should be asking the NFL to help fund some of this.

NO other sport relies on College as much as the NFL. There is a lot of training, playbooks, techniques, etc. to learn. The teams are also large with very specialized positions.

Certain gifted athletes can jump straight from High School to the pros in Basketball and Baseball (not so certain about Hockey). And Hockey and Baseball have MASSIVE "farm" leagues to get young players prepared.

If College Football were to magically disappear, the NFL would be in real trouble, developing talent....
