I saw this online poll at Just The News
The results surprised me a bit but you do have to factor in the audience at that web site. I doubt it's the same people who watch CNN.

Yes, I would.

Sol Star: He's not mad.
Al Swearengen: He's got a mean way of being happy.

I would support them joining too.
Support the NWO?
Not me.
If I were President, I would move to withdraw from NATO. Same for the UN. If NATO wishes to go on without us, that is on them, they can add whomever they want.
We can still join the fight if the fight is just, and we can sit back and watch if it is not. Best of both worlds.
NATO became a joke when they let Turkey in, Western Europe is a big boy now, past time to disengage from that "foreign entanglement"... truthfully, if the Russians (and Chinese, for that matter) overnight became as democratic and peaceful as Switzerland the nouveau Cold Warriors of NATO would still be looking for shit to stir up... "HAMMERS" MUST HAVE "NAILS".
It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either of them. Mark Twain
Disagree.
Turkey was added long ago...in 1952... when the government was much more secular than where it's headed today. It was a good ally during the cold war with USSR.
It was essential during the cold war for multiple reasons. I was assigned there (at Karamursel) when I was in the Air Force. It was a hub for our communications systems as well the location of a huge listening antenna that could be steered to various parts of USSR. I think we had nukes there (on the mountaintops.... not karamursel) too... or that was the rumor anyhow.

We had bases elsewhere in Turkey as well... notable near Adana (incirlik base).. a large installation at the time.

So.. with due respect... I think you had some bad info.
As to whether they should still belong .... that's a related but different issue. They control the Bosporous....the only waterway to the Black Sea. We can't afford to be enemies. And without nuking Istanbul, you can't nuke the Bosporous to prevent everyone from entering or exiting the Black Sea.

I was a bit surprised the poll results were split right down the middle.
There is no world wide threat in Europe any more, why the need for NATO. That died with the end of the Cold War, Russia is no longer a world threat or even a European threat. Europe doesn’t need us to protect them from the big bad scary bear anymore. But the money and kickbacks run deep, that’s what NATO is really all about now.
