The shooter was, of course, a racist. That is why he drove such a long distance to carry out his demented plans.

So why would a (supposedly intelligent) person wonder just why the shooter did not target a white person?

Well, I suppose a generous look would be that he was upset that Gendron continued shooting blacks after letting the white live.

But, it can be interpreted a couple of ways, and it seems a strange aspect to highlight if you aren't wishing that the white had been shot.

Sorry, I put the blame for all of this on liberals and liberal policies. Sure, this stupid kid is the one solely responsible, and I hope the liberals in NY create a real disincentive and quickly execute this murderer after a speedy trial. But liberals have stoked the fires of a race war, and this kid is no different. That was his stated goal. I don't know the politics of this kid, or his parents, but his parents seem to be the hands off liberal type, too. Let the school indoctrinate the kiddies, and live their own oblivious lives.

How does this kid, who made threats at a school, not get flagged when buying guns? This is crazy. Another case of Red Flag laws NOT working to stop criminals. I get this feeling in my gut that Red Flag laws are there solely to punish whoever the state deems needful of punishment, and that is not usually liberal 18 year olds or known threats.

All of us on the political right hate this kid with a passion. He gives the left an excuse to accuse all the rest of us of being white supremacists and terrorists. He makes it difficult for politicians to resist the temptations for even more 2nd Amendment infringements. Everything this punk is, we are not. But the slander and lies against us all are repeated over and over, even by "our" President. That is almost as sickening as the actions of one vile individual.

Mr Ben Crump, I suspect, is part of the problem. For an attorney, I think he misspoke. It is not "sickening" that the shooter didn't kill a white person, it is sickening that this shooter was selectively shooting blacks, by design. I hope Mr Crump is more precise in choosing words to represent his clients, or they are not being well served.

As to the motive for the shooting, yes blacks were his target, but I don't know what he thought he accomplished. He apparently wrote that if he dies as an old man in prison he will have failed, and has fantasies of "his people" breaking him out of prison.

He is dreaming. I believe that actual white supremacists are disgusted with Dylann Roof and have hinted that they would leave him to rot if they ever did actually "do something" like seize state power.
