I grew up on espresso. I make it the easy way with a "nespresso" machine and add a little sugar. I drink two shots a day. I'm still alive.

My wife and I cheat. We used slave over coffee. I even have a roaster and I used to roast my own Kona beans. Long gone. My wife uses a keurig machine and I use a Nespresso machine. For me it is just a lungo roast espresso with some sugar to hide what the Nespresso machine did to it. It goes down in a single gulp.

Pour over. I finally learned the right grind and the right water temperature and water hardness. It's now delicious and perfect.

I've been using Starbucks Sumatra whole beans.

For those that use Sugar and You bee getting low or are out, look around for that small jar of Honey and dip a spoon about 1/4 deep into it and stir the coffee with it...!!! Doesn't take away from the Taste of Coffee and is Better for One than Sugar is...!!! Just a Passing Tidbit of a tip...!

    I prefer hazelnut coffee.

I have tried several methods of brewing...but the one I like best is the simplest.....called; the pour over method.

I am thinking of trying the vacuum coffee maker.

I like Keurig "pour over" the little cup method.

I spare no expense for coffee. I like Starbucks Sumatra - full-bodied with lingering notes of dried herbs. Almost no acidity. This is my favorite.

I have Starbucks Verona, a dark roast with hints of chocolate and caramelized sugar for that hint of chocolate.

    Yes.

    Starbucks. Bring on the sneers.

Starbux' COFFEE - unbrewed, is fine - or better.

Their minimum-wage stooges, ruin it in their stores - brewed too hot, kept too hot, let go stale.

So I head to the command tent (betting they had hot water) & found that some had been heated earlier. I found it, got a cupful & poured in my MRE instant coffee packet. That coffee was picked because it was the lowest bidder to supply coffee. So I was the only person to have coffee which was made out of lukewarm water & the cheapest coffee on the market. And the coffee was fricken wonderful.

So my take on coffee is all coffee is great no matter how it's made if it's the only coffee you have. There is no life without coffee, nor should there be.

I wanted to come back & add that over the years, as I've gotten older, I've cut back on coffee. Now days I hardly ever drink more than 10 cups a day. And yes it does freak my doctors out until they find out how much I used to drink.
As my Father was taught in OCS prior to world war eleven, when you boil water in your helmet first make coffee, then shave, then wash your socks and shorts. Changing the order in any way is not in your best interest.

I've stopped drinking coffee as of about three weeks ago.

So far, I am not missing it.

Coffee always gave me heartburn and made me jittery.

Now I drink tea with apple cider vinegar, honey, lime juice, and a few splashes of Tabasco.
