First robot traffic jam recorded in Estonia

The morning in the Estonian capital began with a traffic jam of… robot couriers! Because of the snowfall, they stalled and could not move. Innovation doesn't seem to work in winter…

Sounds like the newly graduated high tech engineering students weren't very thorough in thinking this through!

    Post of the week!!!!

All automated systems look good right until the design requirements turn out to be insufficient.

f22 test plane crash at DuckDuckGo

This F22 test plane crashed because there was no requirement to lock out afterburner use while the aircraft was in wing-in-ground-effect flight.
The test pilot was told to do an extreme low level pass and pull out into a viking (near vertical ascent) and the airframe became unstable when he threw on the afterburners mere feet off the runway.
This shit always happen when engineers are sure that they thought of everything...

This is why I say self drive will NEVER be safe enough for free range use.

They probably tested the little robots in Menlo Park...

Perhaps they should have gone for the "Off Road Model" instead with higher ground clearance and winter tires?

What's to stop any random thief from just plucking one of those things up and prying it open for a surprise gift?
To think is easy. To act is difficult. To act as one thinks is the most difficult.

And then there is the F35 the Royal Navy lost, because some dick didn't remove the jet intake cover, and it sucked it into the engine , causing the plane to fall off the end of the carrier deck into the Mediterranean Sea.

Amazon proposed to use these in Liverpool and Newcastle. Must be bonkers. like you say, 5 mins after venturing out onto the street, they would be stood on 4 bricks, prised open with a wrecking bar and the contents long gone.
