Russians racing to recover F-35 lost at sea

    -
Same thing we do when the Russkies lose something at sea.
    -

Here is the whole incident the swarmy Brit navy put us in.

The Russians capability is not entirely unknown for recovery missions.

    From Forbes:

Russia has also fielded several generations of uncrewed underwater vessels for deepwater operations. The latest is the BESTER DSRV (Deep Sea Rescue Vehicle) or AC-40 which was unveiled in 2015, and which has been seen operating in conjunction with a Saab SeaEye Tiger vehicle. The Bester is 40 feet long and has a docking system allowing it to link to a stricken sub and rescue up to eighteen submariners at a time. But it is not purely a rescue vessel; it has manipulator arms for underwater engineering work, which could include recovery of missiles, aircraft parts or other items form the sea bed.
While the real prize would be some of the F-35’s state-of-the-art electronics, underwater treasure hunters might be satisfied with even a fragment of wings or fuselage. These may give away some of the secrets of the construction of the planes’ radar-absorbing stealth skin.
Naturally the U.K. will be doing everything it can to keep Russians and others away from the wreckage. But the potential value of a find may tempt looters to see what they can get from the crash site.

It's not like the F-35 has a stellar reputation. It is controversial at best.

well they must have made some great leaps forward, bearing in mind the pigs ear they made of trying to save the men on the Kursk

Just a tiny piece of the skin will reveal the radar absorption technology used. They have to find it. It is the hunt for red October all over again.
