    winter comes early to Montana

    Bozeman pass this morning.

sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most.

    Bozeman pass this morning.

It looks more like the Bozeman no pass!

But even here in central Texas it looks like an early winter. Our pecans are already falling & that's about a month early. Plus a lot of trees have started dropping leaves. That's also about a month early.

NOTE TO DEMOCRATS: It looks like we are going through a Global Cooling period. Quick make it an issue & save us from freezing. Should be worth a trillion dollars more in spending.

Global Warming causes Global Cooling, which causes Climate Change.

The mountain passes get it early, get it hard, and keep it late. On Lolo Pass this spring, there was still considerable snow...on the trails as well as along the road...on June 1.

That's US 12, and a scenic, winding road. This in the above picture, is Interstate 90.

I haven't been out today and hadn't looked at regional news. But it's been colder than normal...the last two nights we had hard freezes, 20 degrees.

We didn't have it predicted, except at the last minute, but we were supposed to get snow showers this afternoon. Temperature 41 degrees.

Welcome to the mountains. Snow generally comes here about October 20; it's a week early.

Harumph! This afternoon, in the middle of the mid-west, I saw a dandelion in my yard!

And a couple of clumps of crabgrass.

I've seen it snow every month except July.

Yup some snow in the mountains around here. Nothing in the city though. I'm at about 3500 feet. Suppose to be in the low 60's this weekend. Looks like Sunday might be a good day to go to the range. If I go and over the pass I'll let you know how much snow is up there.
