In climate research and modelling, we should recognise that we are dealing with a coupled non-linear chaotic system, and therefore that the long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible.

Worldometers' Daily Deaths chart on this page, United States COVID: 42,305,939 Cases and 682,569 Deaths - Worldometer , gives a more holistic picture, though in pure numbers rather than per 100K or 1M. The big pictures from that page are that: 1. Daily Deaths are less than half of what they were last winter; 2. Daily Deaths as a percentage of daily cases are lower than last winter; 3. While Daily Deaths and New Cases rose more sharply in the current surge than last winter, the duration of the current surge appears that it will be more brief than last winter's surge.

In very simple words, while no sane person wanted a surge at all, the current surge is significantly less awful than the MSM's and pols' panic-hype makes it out to be.

No no no. Your data seems to indicate that COVID did not get worse this week and that is unacceptible from a media/political standpoint.

Are they afraid that heard immunity will kick in before bigpharma cashes in again? 170,000,000 people vaxxed, 40 million cases ( providing even better immunity. This may well be for the over 12 crowd because the CDC estimates 83% have antibodies. Add to that the fact that only about 1,500 fully vaccinated people have died WITH ( not necessarily of) COVID and the continued relative saftey of children comparable to the death toll the seasonal flu takes among them. Much to the chagrin of MSM who desperately wants you to believe that kids are dying in record numbers. Which just isn't so.
Anyway there would appear to be no justification for schools not being back to normal or forced vaccinations for anyone because ... math. The unvaccinated have little to fear from the unvaccinated or from kids

Yes, I noticed that one of our local news stations published an article that showed up on my home page this evening. It was a sensational ad about how many covid cases are in Texas, and written to make it look like we are dropping dead left and right, when the reality is, we are much better off than earlier in the year, and than when all this garbage first began, but the news sources/ writers and associates don't want us to realize that.
