Also, you can't just say that only progressives are left in California.

Enough people signed the petition to recall Newsom, and they weren't progressives.

The state has had the recall for 108 years, and only two recall efforts against a sitting governor ever qualified for a special election.

    Those were in 2003 and 2021 - since 1913.

At least when Biden knew the fix was in, he didn't bother to campaign except in front of a couple dozen cars.
All part of the show. You know the show must go on.

That's another thing all challengers were limited to very small amounts they could raise while Gruesome was able to raise unlimited amounts of money. Elections in California are all show, no substance. This is the land of magic after all.

Democrats have made elections into a joke with their enablers in the media.
Yup. I've been an election judge too. If they are already calling the election the fix was in.

The gap will narrow in the next few days. Democrats like mail voting because it lets them leverage popular opinion before all ballots have been counted.

They can then call for concession, and win through intimidation.
Not only intimidation but making it appear all hope is lost so why bother voting.

Told you this would happen. The System is not going to let any of their golden boys lose an election unless they no longer have any use for them. Also keep in mind that CA has a majority non-white population and lots of uber-rich celebs that have largely been unaffected by Gruesome's fuck-ups. Conservatives were wasting their time on this bullshit "recall". They're better off moving to some other state where their vote will actually matter. And hopefully, they will stop pinning their hopes on every magic "conservative negro" that comes along.

I'm quite sure the left-wing Nuts and the Homeless wanted a different Left-wing Communist Nut than Gruesome but when it became apparent that a Conservative Libertarian from the Republican Party might win well they had no choice but to keep Gruesome and of course voter fraud helped a lot as well.

I'm surprised nobody has made any jokes about CA Dems being "racists" yet.

So, now that the Calif recall is over, some people are giving their opinions of how well Larry Elder did and what his chances are of winning next time.

I'm not about to call myself a statistician. But, on reflection of the final results now compared with last night, Newsom barely won by 13.9%. "Black Conservative Perspective" seems to think there' hope. Tomi commented that "the pendulum is swinging". The thing is Newson won last time by 11.9%. Obviously, that's a narrow lead both times. However, the percentage increased slightly. I suppose the Republicans could try making more of an effort to reach out to the light blue districts. However, if they want to do something, they have to start now to get ahead of the gubernatorial election. That's how Texas managed to change all the spanish majority cities along the southern border to Republican.
