    WTH Pennsylvania?

Just got home from a trip to Florida to furnish our retirement home which we bought in March. The trip takes me through parts of 9 states.
But the Keystone state stands out for being the biggest pain in the ass to drive through on I-81. First of all did I say "keystone state" ? I should have said the construction state. It has been this way for as long as I can remember. Always fixing roads that somehow still manage to still be crappy.
On top of that they have sections that stretch from 8-30 some miles which are reduced to 55 MPH for absolutely no apparent reason. Made worse by the fact that we had just left the 70 MPH speeds of the south
But perhaps most irritating of all was the lack of "road work" in most of the construction areas. 5 miles of one lane with 3 guys and one machine all uin the first 100 yards.
When will the PA highway department get it together? Anyone else experienced this in PA?

The last time that I was on the Pennsylvania Turnpike was about 30 years ago. It was a piece of shit.

I traveled to Boston for 10 years. Not only was there always construction at the airport and major roads, it was the same construction for 10 years.

Good unions!! Workers got a really good rep. Garbage workers, you name it they have some strong unions. Not too good for the public, but the workers are set for life. Try walking Philly in a garbage strike it becomes clear as glass after Windex.

Watch, 'Outback Truckers' and you'll never complain about a road, again.
You're only as good as your last performance.

I'll keep complaining as long as my tax dollars are supposed to keep the roads in good repair.......but they don't. Here in northern Arizona the roads are horrible, much worse than when we lived in Nevada.

    Hell yeah.
I remember driving across the whole State about ten years ago on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) and I remember thinking to myself that there's more miles of "construction" than there is without. It really was torturous.

they haven't managed it in my lifetime.

maybe after we're both dead and gone.

pee-ay used to pave goat trails and call them state routes; doesn't sound like anything's changed.
