Do they have Irish jokes in USA? Here in Australia being Irish is associated with not only being a drunk Paddy but also with being stupid. But in USA its all Notre Dame and Boston Strong and Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly.. To be Irish is to be white in USA apparently. Australia has very high population of Irish heritage but you rarely hear anyone call themselves 'Irish-Australian'. You hear 'Irish-American' all the time even though ones saying it have been in USA for generations. I have an Irish Grandmother and Im Irish-Catholic. Impressed?
