France on the brink of war with Jersey?

Jersey, one of the British administered Channel Islands,is in dispute with France over permits issued to France's fishermen to ply their trade. The French are not happy with their allocation. The French maritime minister has upped the stakes and threatened to cut the cable which supplies Jersey with its electricity in retaliation. We have to support Jersey so how can we retaliate to the French retaliation.Short of nukes obviously!

Please think quicker Barliman, although your brews are fine.

Just a suggestion, but Caterpillar and others make some pretty big diesel gensets in modified shipping containers. Maybe just preparing a pad and putting up a couple substations to handle and distribute the load will let them know you are serious?

C'mon. These are the same people upset because a farmer moved a boundary marker two meters. Some people on here keep referencing some primates that wave white flags. Call their bluff.

If Jersey is anything like New Jersey, the French are in trouble. They should be worried, really worried.

Answer: English ships close the Channel until France restores the line, if they cut it.

That, or, the English government just acts as a typical Western government, and tells Jersey to "get fucked, we ain't helping, pay your fucking taxes."

This is Europe so couldn't we just go to Jersey, pick up a yellow rock, transport it to France to the other side of the end of the cable & then Jersey could claim that they own the cable? (wink)

Typical French behaviour, they are behaving like they always do in a crisis….. mob handed expecting to get their own way.
