HMS Severn is a River-class offshore patrol vessel of the Royal Navy. Named after the River Severn, the ship was the first to bear the name in 56 years.

HMS Tamar is a Batch 2 River-class offshore patrol vessel of the Royal Navy. Named after the River Tamar in England, this is the seventh Royal Navy ship to be named Tamar. She is the fourth Batch 2 River-class vessel to be built

Makes me want to buy a diesel boat (that's a submarine) flush with torpedos, and a couple of Tucanos and go apply to be the Benevolent Emperor of Jersey.

With the addition of a NG electrical power plant and some sea water cooling we could become the new Dogecoin superpower...

    But I digress.

It appears our vessels are playing it low key in fear of escalating the situation?

The French are one of nature's bullies who usually having nothing to back up their bluster when confronted.Their fishermen have a long history of blockading ferry ports to support one dispute or another.Perhaps in this instance if the number of permits they have been allocated is insufficient to their needs, withdraw the total allocation and give them to someone else, then they'll have none at all.Inevitably the French navy has also despatched 2 patrol vessels to watch ours.I bet all 4 commanding officers have been told,FFS don't start a fight. It will be huff and puff for a few days and pass into history.

The French are hopelessly outgunned,i posted in another thread, The Severn on it own would have no problem slicing the French military presence up on its own with its two 30mm cannons, two Browning .50 cal heavy machine guns, and two Vulcan built 6 barrel miniguns (6000 rps of 7.65mm x 51mm NATO rounds at 2000 ft/sec)

Not to mention the Severn is 2000 ton displacement with a 12 foot draft, the french are 108 ton and 400 ton both with six foot draft, and Severn has five times the engine power

    Hey Neo!

The US Naval Academy is located on a river named SEVERN, in the state of Maryland . I wonder if there is an historical connection.
