    Going on 5 years now.....

Not that anyone here will be over enthusiastic about it, but wanted to say something anyway. Just got back from cancer center in Overland Park, Ks. Heard the results from my pet scan, cat scan, bone marrow density test, blood work and a bone test for my osteoporosis. April 7th was my 4th year anniversary from my allogeneic stem cell transplant (youngest son). This marks the second time that I had the cancer. Got rid of it in 2015....came back aggressively a year later. Totally glad that the first time around with the cancer they didn't do a transplant. If they would have, it would of been with my own. Don't think that would of worked....2nd time around they used my youngest son.

Anybody that has been around people who have had a transplant can relate to what is involved. My osteoporosis is getting worse and they cancer doctors are going to have me take some intraveneous material (here in town with my doctor) to help with the osteoporosis.

Was able to see a P.A. today, know him well from all the years....asked him just how lucky was I to get through this with the way the cancer had developed. He stood there for a few seconds not saying a word....then I asked him, do you think from what you saw with my case that there was Divine Intervention here? (Have always wanted to ask somebody on the staff that question) he quickly replied, "IF HE HADN'T HELPED, YOUR ONE LUCKY GUY".

Here is a pic of the FIRST tumor....

    10708779_10201719537389137_6693506849991089943_o.jpg

That was taken the first go around....they got it but it came back and and was surrounding my right kidney. There was talk of removing the kidney but that didn't materialize. 2nd time around I let it go to far. I tried, what I thought was a remedial procedure....Rick Simpson oil. Anybody ever heard of that? Damn near killed me for it didn't work for my lymphoma and the cancer grew exponential. Second time around the cancer got into my left side, thigh and neck and the tumor was wrapping around the right kidney. Scanning indicated that 30-40% of my bone marrow had lymphoma.

Now there are a few people who venture into our forum who think I am totally crazed by Jesus and the Catholic faith. How could one not be? Yes, I am not the same person who went to KU hospital to get help for something I thought other people get. Totally thankful to God for getting me, my wife and family through this. Life altering event for sure.

One more thing....have said this many a time, sometimes things happen for a greater good. In that I am talking about from 1999 thru 2021.....there WAS and IS an example of a greater good that involves my wife, my family and myself that throughout those years mentioned above a greater good was achieved. To be clear, I am not talking about my bout with cancer.

Have been told that after 5 years from transplant a person is considered cured.

Congratulations! Best wishes to you and your family for health and happiness always!

Mrs dinosaur is now a 5 time cancer survivor! For her, nothing fancy, just chop chop chop. The early chemo and radiation and multiple surgeries from 40 years ago are taking their toll on her, but she is a living miracle. We joke that she is a human guinea pig to see how many parts a person can live without.

I do believe it was Divine intervention. No doubt about it.

I know a young man who had testicular cancer. It had spread all over his body and he discovered he had it when he felt a tumor pressing on his chest making it difficult to breathe. The cancer is gone now and he has been cancer free for over 10 years. He is a youth pastor of a church in Seattle and I KNOW there was divine intervention. He is healthy and energetic and doing great.

    God heals and we care.

Good for you & good luck to you. I'll just give you the same advise that I gave to my father in law: Your goal should be to look forward & just try to outlive your doctor. Oddly he outlived 2 of his doctors (one at a time).

Congratulations! God is definitely on your side. My wife is a cancer survivor 8 years now.
It takes a FAMILY to raise a child--Not Hitlery Klinton's Socialist, Anti-Family, Nanny-State...I mean, "Village".

Islam is a religion of violence and terror as practiced by the Islamofascists. The Muslims that do speak out against terror are then terrorized by the Islamofascists and are ignored by the Lap Dog Media.

The tumor is what I call a shade of red, maybe pinkish. Right side and its pushing my right lung up. That pet scan was from the first time.....when it came back, and because of my foolishness thinking Rick Simpson Oil would do the trick, the tumor came back in the same place and continued to grow. Doctors told me it was encapsulating my right kidney....thats when they said I might lose the kidney. On the second go around I could lay down and then turn on my side and I could feel the tumor adjust itself accordingly (gravity) weird feeling for sure.. Very fluid thing it was. When the big tumor was at its peak doctors said it would weigh 8 to 10 lbs.

What killed it was the last dose of chemo...was very powerful stuff. The day I received the stem cells, had this really uckky feeling...never had anything like it before. Well, before you knew it the nurses called for something. Bunch of staff and doctors came in.....ended up shocking my heart, out of rhythm....got it back to normal with the jolt. Felt like a hot wire fence when your kneeling down in the grass and touching it. One quick zap! Got better then...

My youngest son and daughter went up to see who would be the best donor...ended up being my son. It was then my daughter asked the staff member "what happens if this don't work". She said....he will have 2 or 3 months.
