I don't understand any of this.

Would it be correct to say that only posting the link and not the text is preferable?

    "From the Rules" :
Members are reminded copy/paste of entire articles or lengthy portions is unlikely to be read, and an abuse of the author's work.

Fair Use Law requires a modest portion plus a valid link. Few websites enforce length, but here a link is an absolute must. Posting lengthy text is inappropriate and we'll have to crack down on it if people don't voluntarily check themselves to not abuse these protocols when crafting OPs or posts.

Please don't make us have to get nit-picky about this. Do the right thing; reasonable length and a valid link.

    No. Just a millenial.

At work, when I started 30+ years ago, we had written procedures that were horribly thick. Management insisted that they be written to minute detail so that, in their misguided minds, "could hire any monkey off of the street to perform tests and repairs." The problem is that they were actually highly trained technicians with experience and they were the type of people needed to work on these devices. They procedures were so insulting to their intelligence that they never read them.

When I saw this as the case, I updated them with a minimal skill level required and wrote them in a way that it could be used, as written, as a training tool for the experienced techs to use when training new personnel. The whole idea was, if the new guy had to write a bunch of notes to tell him how to really perform these operations, then the procedure sucked and needed fixed. It took a while to get management to quit bitching about it but when the procedures actually started working for everyone, they stopped.

Then came the millenials. Even though they were told everything that was needed while being trained and told that info could be added to the procedure per their training, it took too much effort to request it. Then after they were certified for their positions, they started screwing everything up. Their favorite thing to say other than, "That's not my job" is "My procedure didn't specifically say to do that." Now, procedures are being written to excruciating detail so that idiots, if they can actually read, can perform the operations. Management didn't push it that direction. The millennial "workforce" did.

Just think about this the next time you are in a hospital or, heaven forbid, end up in a nursing home that has millenials providing care.

It takes a FAMILY to raise a child--Not Hitlery Klinton's Socialist, Anti-Family, Nanny-State...I mean, "Village".

Islam is a religion of violence and terror as practiced by the Islamofascists. The Muslims that do speak out against terror are then terrorized by the Islamofascists and are ignored by the Lap Dog Media.
