    Recommendations for portable ice maker....

You know...you can go to just about any place and they will tell you what THEY think you want to hear about a specific item. Well, I am here to ask people who own them, if you do, or know of people who have a portable ice maker, if you can recommend. Sometimes I think they have people sitting around a computer and writing "reports" on how that particular item works. Guess it comes with how we don't trust anything the MSM puts out. It bleeds over... Wanting a portable so we can take to the lake...

    So any recommendations?

    thanks!

We have one & I don't know the brand. The wife wanted it so I bought it. It makes very small ice cubes medium fast. The problem is that small ice cubes don't cut it because they melt way to fast. So it's basically worthless except to collect dust or maybe if you have a lot of papers you need to stop from blowing away you could set it on top of them.

If I had it to do over again I'd buy it again because the wife wanted it. But if I wanted ice cubes I'd go to the store & buy a bag & what I didn't use I'd freeze & just break off what I needed in the future.

yea,,,imo,,they're just a gimmick...like those tiny refrigerators that hold 4 soda or beer cans...they only cool things down about 40 degrees below ambient, so if its 100 degrees out, they cool the can to 60 degrees..and they never get cold enough to freeze....thats not cold.

Hey...I remember those... when I was little mom would have me fill them up and put them in the freezer above the ice box. Yes...in my house its still called an ice box. Another thing...the tv remote....its called the "box". Just an example of how we are creatures of habit.
