    A real dummy without a doubt. I don't know what I'd do if that happened to me- but hanging around blowing the money thinking the mistake would go unnoticed isn't one of the things I'd do.
    If I WAS going to try and keep it...I'd convert it to cash and pull a Houdini faster than you can say the name.

    I just laughed and waited a few month's and the money was gone.

    she should have just re-invested it with schwab and argued the interest was hers.

    If that happened to me I don't know what I'd do.
    So as a test case any of you guy that want to see just deposit 1.2 million bucks in my account & I'll let you know what I did with it.

    How can you "refuse" to return something to a bank?

    Around here they just debit your account, end of story. You can't "refuse". If you try to "refuse" they just laugh at you, and the more you try the harder they laugh.

    Not a bank. Rules are different.

    Schwab apparently has recovered about 75%. I assume the rest is in hard assets such as car and house and is more difficult to sort out. I don't know LA rules for recovery if the home is used as a primary residence. Maybe a lien award by a court? Not sure about how the car would be settled?
