California Teachers Demand Free Child Care Before Returning to Work

I was just reading an article in Politico where California teachers are now demanding free childcare to return to work. Seems in the LA area they were just granted a $500 per month stipend for childcare but they want it all.

With all the upcoming new "Students" infiltrating our borders, I can only imagine where my property taxes, which support our fine learning institutions, are going.

I have had a darling lakeside little cabin for the past 20 years. It's a very nice little area with a smallish lake and the serenity of nature abounds. Just a summer getaway scenario. Suddenly, the cute little cabins are coming down and being replaced with garish McMansions. Who are the leading residents transforming our little community? Retired teachers who are cushioned by the largess of their irrefutable, cost of living raised pensions which they collect between the ages of 50 and 55.

It is a daily worry if my saved investments will last the remainder of my lifetime with how the country is going, or even if the government will just end up taking it. I must admit to being a little bitter as I have never cost a dime in public education. My siblings and myself went to private schools and I have no children. This segment of society has cost me more than any other and I find no comfort in them saying they will be the ones taking care of me when older. Right, that and about ten grand a month from me!

once that demand is met, they'll have another.

in the mean time, everyone with a government job in kalifornia should demand the same.

I think the parents of these kids should be making some demands of their own.

Of course, they don't want the damned children showing up at school. For the unions, children are the worst part of being a teacher.

Tell then no. After all last year they showed how uniportant they think these kids are and they are still doing it.
Out of work college students can read a totally scripted curricum into a Zoom box and be less selfish than these psycho teachers.
I mean last year it was time for many Americans to step up, a hidden thing that happened behind the controvery

Docs, nurses and other healthcare workers and support staff. were asked to step up and they did.

    Same with responders

Waitresses, fast food workers and grocery store clerks we needed them to come forward and take some risk and they did.

Truckers , farmers and wharehouse workers did what was asked of them

Many others were called and did what was required.

But teachers? Well some did. My neice is the union rep in a small school and they are going 5 days a week. But the so called teachers in California? They refused to step up for the kids despite the fact that in 2019 they would have told you exactly how real school is so critical to a child's development. These people failed California, the country and those kids.

Maybe we should only hire teachers who have finished raising their own kids. That way, we can judge them by their results before we trust them with ours.

If they do, Hitlery's Village will attack them.
It takes a FAMILY to raise a child--Not Hitlery Klinton's Socialist, Anti-Family, Nanny-State...I mean, "Village".

But, teachers tend to send their children to private school.

This is an old article so if you think government schools have improved in 15 years you can disregard...reality.

"For example, a 2004 Fordham Institute study found that 39 percent of Chicago public school teachers send their own children to private schools. That's compared to a national average of 12 percent of all children who are educated privately."
    https://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/daily-southtown/opinion/ct-reeder-column-st-0312-20170310-story.html

More recent research shows public school teachers sending their kids to private schools at a rate twice the national average.

How much child care do they need? Educators should have their kids in daycare/preschool by age three for socialization and they have a ton of time off. Once their kids are in school they need precious little child care , in fact that's one of the perks. Deal with it like everyone else.
Grocery store clerks showed more balls and patriotism than California teachers did. And how were they rewarded? By NOT getting the 600 a week they would have if they were laid off!
