    Ban children from social media?

    .
We should ban children from social media before it ruins their futures

    MICHAEL DEACON

    Parliamentary Sketchwriter

I was going to start by saying that social media is the most dangerous invention since the nuclear bomb. But then I realised that it would be an absurd piece of hyperbole. After all, you can easily argue that nuclear weapons help to preserve peace.

And what Biden says China do! Ad hoc per se?

And what we used to ask people using dodgy cars on the Falls Road was if they supported the obviously gaylord clergy that'd take over post Her Majesty's rule.

    Their self-subservient doctrine is embarrassing.

You should not post news items that cannot be read unless reader agrees to a free trial. It is annoying. Do you work for The Telegraph or something?

Parliamentary Sketchwriter? Sketchwriter is one word? I had to look this stuff up - I have never heard of it. I dont pay much attention to England or the English. So annoying. It annoys me that you have so-called 'sketchwriters'. Why have them if you dont need them anymore? They are funny? I doubt it.

Hey I started reading Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy a few months ago and I got about half way through it and had to stop. If I had a physical copy of the book I would %$%$ing burn it. The free audio book I found is read by author. What an annoying Pommy %$%$. The guy is more interested in trying to be clever than he is in trying to be funny. Or write a good book. You educated English have such gigantic egos. Obviously there is an audience for this kind of Pommy nonsense - mostly yourselves I guess. But yeah the way this Michael Deacon guy opens reminds me of Douglas Adams a bit. Whatever point he is trying to make with this news item is secondary - the main point of this script is for the reader to know how oh so clever Michael Deacon is right? I cant read article but Im making an educated guess.

Children these days are little pansies that need to harden up. The social media is bad for children hysteria feeds into the powers that be having complete control of the internet and what people can say on it. This is why child 'bullying' is such an important topic in modern times. Make public think online child bullying is huge problem - police it. Then you get the pro-sports guys to cry about bullying which is being done here in Australia. Pretty much every week some %$%$ing faggot NRL player will cry to media that somebody said a mean thing to them on twitter and its now to point that when a team goes on a losing streak and fans are angry the team will claim that players have been getting death threats on twitter and blah blah blah but reality is that there were no credible death threats made to any players if at all - but you cry death threat and now all of a sudden angry fans are thinking twice before they go on twitter and tell some useless overpaid %$%$ of an NRL player that he is a worthless %$%$ which is good for the team because when an angry core of fans turn on their team this can often snowball into entire fanbase turning on team. Anyway the point we are trying to get to is that no public figure can be criticized by a prole - to do so would be a form of bullying/harassment. This will include politicians. Soon we wont be able to say a bad word about anybody - anywhere. Especially not on internet. Thats the point of this bullying hysteria.

When I started high school back in the day we had to worry about 'Initiation' which was a lot like the start of the movie Dazed and Confused where the older kids catch the kids starting high school and hit them with paddles. But at my school they would take us to local pool at end of week for initiation and teachers would make us get in water with the older kids who would drown us all afternoon. The teachers thought that initiation was funny. The dunking in the pool was main part but bullying by older kids lasted all year. It was all about how you responded to it. What kind of a kid are you? A kid that deserves respect or a kid that doesnt. Anyway you could never have an initiation day these days - not an official one anyway. Life is a lot easier for the candy ass children of today than it ever has been. Somebody said something mean to them on the internet and they are going to kill themselves over it? Of course.

edit - I guess in future we will all have to rely on pieces of %$%$ like Michael Deacon to speak for us. HA. That is funny.

A synopsis of the story is better than any form of dictatorial monologue.

The question remains: should children be restricted to the continuous social media they suffer? Or be forced into hill-walking or going to the library a bit more often to read something educational?

Just as children need age appropriate schools and curricula, they also need monitored and age appropriate internet interactions.

Since the internet is some double digit cesspool of content with an overlay of corporate, commerce, and big tech biased social media, it is not a place that I want my teens freeranging.

Read an article recently on how Facebook allows the Red Chinese govt. to post loads of propaganda on its media while censoring conservative speech reporting on Red China's police state tactics, same as they do with faggots and criminal illegal aliens and black hate crimes; even its employees are complaining now, especially its Muslim employees over its censorship of news about Red China's genocides against the Ughiur or whatever they call themselves. I don't use Facebook or Twitter or any of those low life commie fan clubs so I don't actually personally know any of that is a fact, but if the WSJ publishes an article on it it might be at least partially true.

and how do you ban kids from social media? How are you going to verify someone age when they sign up, without turning the whole thing into something out of 1984?

Any method you can think to do this has already been thought of, and a simple way round devised. Kids may be kids, but they arent stupid. There's NO METHOD of verification that achieved over the internet that cant be faked. Not even a Digital Signature.

Its like these women who scream about 'the government should ban/shut down child porn site' - how? Most of them operate in countries which dont care, and the government has no authority over. Even if the ISP's attempted to block the sites in a specific country, they can still get at those sites if they are determined enough.

People that post articles like this merely demonstrate their utter inability to grasp the problem of actually implementing what they are suggesting.

Look at the Music industry. Various Performing Rights bodies, and copyright owners like Sony have spent millions in a fruitless attempt to stop music being pirated. They invented DRM (Digital rights management) to stop people copying music tracks, within weeks you could download a little app that stripped all the DRM out of a music file of a piece of software. They have pursued torrent sites like The Pirate Bay, they might manage to close iot down for a while, but it always rises fro mthe ashes. Its running today as we speak.

It doesnt matter how smart you think you or your company and its employees are, there's always someone smarter somewhere on the internet that can cancel, bypass, or undo what you think is watertight and foolproof, even Microsoft isnt smart enough. You will never stop kids getting onto social media, as long as they have access to a phone or computer.

Catchy byline and story lead-in, but paywall ... uh, no.

My Google phone keeps asking me to input my birthday so Google can "comply with the law". Bullshit on that!

Bad parenting ruins kids, maybe we should ... nevermind.

    1. It should be up to the parents.
    2. Why just protect children? Shouldn't the government protect all of us? Perhaps they should license us to use social media.

    3. I'm thinking we're approaching a time when the only thing you can do without an ID is vote.

If we want to protect children, eliminate teachers' unions and give parents school choice.

Question: how are the people who go ask their kids for help every time the computer messes up going to come up with some "lock" on social media that those same kids are not going to be able to get around in a heartbeat?

To be quite honest, if you really want to know what your kid is up to on social media, take their smartphone (or other device, but it's usually a smartphone) to a digital forensics company and get a full dump of the device. It will cost you several hundred dollars, at least, but you will get every last bit of recoverable data off that device.

Then sit back, remember what you were like as a kid, and get ready to have some hairs raised.
