    Guinness soda bread

Sorry, a little late for St. Patrick’s day, but this is an Irish staple good all year round.

The desire to rule is the mother of heresies.

I once made a really good looking Irish soda bread. It came out of the oven looking like I was Irish. My ancestors would have been proud. I sat it on the table to cool down. When I came back for it, it was gone. Completely gone, as not a crumb in sight. I looked everywhere. My black lab even helped me look, she was sniffing around everywhere, and even she didn't find it for me.

I was in a store picking up some Guinness Drought cans last week and a rep from my local brewery saw it in my cart . He asked me if I ever tried a " Black and Blue " which is a half glass of Blueberry ale topped off with Guiness . I'm not a flavored beer drinker but my son likes Blue Point Blueberry ale so I picked some up and went to my kids house for St Pats and tried it . Pour in the Blueberry ale first half than top it with Guinness - the beer variety gets split visually in the glass and you down the Drought first and than the Blueberry flavor comes in . Tasted pretty good if your into that stuff but I'm not sooooo.
How did all those Coke Cans get the tabs pulled open ?
As you walk out of the soda aisle smiling !

Aren't the reps supposed to give you free beer or something?

Every time I see the cigarette lady she tries to give me free American Spirits!

I think theres a law about giving free beer , I don't ever recall seeing a cents off coupon either although they do give those rebates .
