Alas, it's a 30 mile drive to the nearest one.

Our small Texas town got a Jack-In-The-Box last year and apparently it was a big hit for a few weeks. Then the other day my wife told me we have a Whataburger coming soon and the locals are up in arms about it. Too many chain food places I suppose.

But I do loves me some Whataburger (it's a Texas thing).

Big carbs in all of then since they are all on big bread. I can relate with the carb thing. The doc has had me on a low carb diet for about a year now. It sucks.

Last FF burger that I had was Mar 12 2020 during our bugout.

I did sneak in a trip to KFC for original while living out of town for a week last fall, I baked it to sterilize.

I almost can't imagine those things existing anymore. How wierd is that?
It's the only way to "eat out" in many places - with dining areas ordered closed, regardless of the type of restaurant.

It's criminal, the way goobermint destroyed so many small businesses...but there's something else to take away from this. How MUCH we have gotten used to "eating out" - and often at these Filth-Food franchises.

There are better ways. When I'm not in a mood to cook, I go over to one market or another's deli counter - the unsold rotisserie chickens are iced and put in plastic tubs, and sold at a discount. Not bad for you, since there is no coating; and not bad tasting when warmed up. Fine...no-cooking chicken, and often cheaper than fresh.

I have to go easy on starches. So no potatoes or rice for me...chicken and veggies. Veggies get nuked for two minutes. MEAL DONE!

Other times I'll really cook; but I haven't had food out of a restaurant since August. And that was for unexpected company.

I think the new chicken sandwich at KFC is pretty good.

Color me strange but I like Burger King's meatless hamburgers. It has a nice flavor, more than I can say about their regular burgers.

    You don't like flame-broiled burgers?
