What says "fan devotion" better than shitting on those who have made you what you are?

Never a Nascar fan either. Always been more Formula 1 and Grand Prix motorcycle racing for me. Until you have witnessed a motorcycle getting airborne over a hump in the road at 200 mph you have never experienced a race.

I cannot imagine Fireball Roberts, Junior Johnson, Fred Lorenzen, or Dale Earnhardt, Sr. putting up with this.

Maybe it time to let NASCAR die a natural death.

I think it is time for that. Ever since they instituted that concept of Playoffs.....and tried to "compete" with stick and ball sports they have been on track to offend their original base fans & they are actively trying to smooze leftist type fans.

I put up with it since 2001.
I'm done putting up with it.

I have been to the GP races at Laguna Seca around 15 times back in the 80's and 90's when Americans Kenny Roberts, Randy Mamola, Freddie Spencer and later Kevin Schwantz and Wayne Rainey were kicking butt. Been to Sears Point Raceway (now Sonoma) too many times to count for national roadraces. But I have always loved and been involved in all kinds of motorsports including pitting on a Modified pavement car for 10 years.

i used to go to laguna seca to watch the motorcycle races...at the time, i couldnt afford the price of admission, but there was a road you could go on that bordered the track and at one point was above it where we would go and watch for free...

if i remember correctly, the road was kinda on some part of a military complex/base.

Yep, Fort Ord Army Base. We camped on base one time as civilians because we went to the wrong gate and said we were camping out for the race. They let us in and told us where to camp. We wondered why we were the only ones there. Later we learned where the track was with tens of thousands camped there and stayed at the track every year after usually for 3 days. Fun times back in the day.
