It is a fairly common occurrence with you. I don't point it out every time, but just now and then. Religious bigotry towards Christianity has reached epidemic proportions. Many people do not even realize the glib ways they express it.

It is a result, imho, of constant propaganda from progressive institutions, normalizing ridicule of Christianity, to join their comrades who hate both America and Christianity.

It is .. telling.. to me, that the left, islamist, anarchists, marxists, and a few others share that common bond. They hate America, and they hate Christianity.

Some progressive indoctrinees may slip by some of the Indoctrination, and only hate one part of the enemies of Progressivism. But most comply by hating both.
I don't normally answer this type of post but as it was more or less addressed to me I will.

I don't ridicule Christians and I wasn't ridiculing @Jen. "God" "Jesus" are, in my opinion, "imaginary friends" conjured up by one's mind to deal with everyday problems and may under the right conditions help keep one's sanity. I'm too rational to be able to do that myself and I have tried to do that but in the end my rationality always took over and I would come to my senses. My oldest foster daughter when she was about three or so had a imaginary friend as children are wont to do. Her imaginary friend though was quite vicious and quite frankly scared my wife and me as well as her parents. A child psychologist was consulted and assured us that the daughter would out grow her imaginary friend and was a normal child. The daughter did out grow her imaginary friend and outgrow Santa Claus as well over time. A few of us do outgrow all imaginary friends over time but the fast majority of people do not and that is a fact. Being a rational person is a tough row to hoe and very few people are capable of being a rational person which is why we are in the mess we are in. Fear is a very strong emotional hold on the human psychic.

I do not hate America nor Christianity nor Christians. You seem to always think that if people do not agree with your brand of Christianity than we hate Christians and Christianity and even America. We have discussions on here about a lot of things but that doesn't mean there is any hatred for Christianity or America. I've always been an independent/free thinker which is how I came to my atheism. I haven't been indoctrinated into anything for if I had I'd either be a Catholic or a religious Jew.

The problem is that no one has really spelled out the special formula needed for this effort. It's too nebulous.

And the implication is: If we can't find God, we are somehow inferior, defective, socialists/communists who want to tear down our country. And nothing could be further from the truth.
I am sorry you interpreted the post that way. I don't think i implied that, and would not have stated it, as i don't believe 'finding God' depends on human effort, as i have repeated numerous times in these forums.

You can, of course, judge me how you will, and ascribe motives anyway you want.

..whatever.. your criticisms of me seem to be a deflection. You replied to Jen, with a demeaning quip about her faith.

I could reply to you on how atheists are so clueless that they can't grasp the most Fundamental Truth in the entire universe, and you would be greatly offended.

I don't expect to change anything or anyone. I just point out hypocrisy and bigotry from time to time. I accept it as the world we are in.

..perhaps it is best for me to bow out, and concede that Christians are deluded and superstitious. Disputing that progressive doctrine seems to trigger many who embrace it.

Nevermind. God is imaginary. Happy, now?

I don't know about other Atheists on the board but I would not be offended. I'm neither a hypocrite nor a bigot on Christianity. I state my opinions on Christianity just like you do on Atheism.
