And that's okay - it wasn't that expensive; and the iPad iBought to replace it, is itself obsolete. I still have both - iUse the iPad as aNightstandClock.

But, I had about four library-loan Kindle editions on my Kindle when I cut the account. And I never erased it. I still have the library books on there, since the Kindle cannot communicate with the Mothership and learn that I shouldn't have them.

So...short answer...yeah. If you have the Foxfire books on Kindle, and in your reader or tablet, and your Amazon account goes dark and is closed for non-activity...you'll still have those Kindle books as long as your reader survives and you have electric power.
Good to hear. In addition to books on the constitution, Russian revolution, Margaret "human weeds" Sanger, Jungian psychology, the Bible, the russian collusion lie, and astrology, i have useful books on small engine repair, off-the-grid survival, herbal medicine, hydrology, etc. I don't want to lose them.

So now I'm using virtually all my paycheck to buy food.... not necessarily 10-20 year shelf life food though. I'm just trying to make sure I have enough for my family till next summer.

I am constantly learning things. These are things that probably everyone here knows but they are new to me. Here's the latest thing....

corn..... the hard grain that looks like feed corn or popcorn... you have to soak it in an alkaline solution of lime (from limestone) or lye to break down to outer husk. The ancient mexican and south American Indians have been doing it for a millenia or two. Mexicans do it today..

sheesh... dry corn is cheap. And now I know how to make it edible ( in addition to the popping approach, which only works at the right moisture content.)

and yes..... I have other various foods and almost enough meat so as to have all the essential amino acids. But I definitely need more vegetables and bulky stuff like corn to .... keep things working. know what I mean? I'd prefer all freeze dried stuff but may settle for air dried if the nutritional content does not suffer too much.
I remember before this Corona Virus could find Ribeyes and T-Bones on sale $8/$9 bucks..

Now they want double that for a Sirloin or Ny Strip..

Ground Chuck was going like $7/8 bucks a pound..

Ribs and Pork chops also skyrocketed

Price of Brats , Ham, and Sausage seems stable..

    Also noticing a SPAM shortage

I grew up dirt floor poor, and have always loved Spam. Any time I used to mention Spam I was looked at with a jaundiced eye. Now people who looked down on me for liking Spam, are the same ones bitching about how much it's gone up in price; if they can even find it still on the shelves...

Awhile back Walgreens was having a sale like 2 cans for $5...

I threw the shelf in my cart...

Experation dates go out to late 2023 even there as long as it's "Sealed" full of salt n nitrates last 5 years beyond stamped expiriation date...

Haven't seen Spam since but the new deal is those canned Danish Hams..

Think like Krakus tasted just the same just chill it and slice it thin..

    3 for $9

Spam is not something I buy often but its very good.

Khrushchev said "yankee spam" saved his military back in WW2.

There are a lot of Hawaiian BBQ restaurants around here, you can get spam musubi and a fresh cracked open coconut in the drive through.

Edit-apparently Nori is shelf stable for years, and if you live near the coasts, there are several types of seaweed that are edible.

Many of us have a supply of rice, and spam, this could spice it up.
