'Purposeful' exposure to coronavirus could trigger terror charges

'Threats or attempts to use as weapon will not be tolerated'

There was suspicion when the Chinese coronavirus first started infecting large numbers of people that it had been developed as a bioweapon, and got loose. After all, there was a Chinese research lab right there near Wuhan where it started.

Then, of course, the Chinese government claimed the U.S. Army had brought it to China – apparently as a weapon, a claim that has since been debunked.

But it still could be considered a weapon, according to the Department of Justice, which has warned that those who "intentionally spread" the infection could be charged under U.S. terrorism laws.

A memo, from Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, went to DOJ leaders, prosecutors and others, and said that investigators could consider that "purposeful exposure and infection of others with COVID-19" is banned by criminal statutes.

"Because coronavirus appears to meet the statutory definition of a 'biological agent' … such acts potentially could implicate the nation’s terrorism-related statutes," Rosen explained. "Threats or attempts to use COVID-19 as a weapon against Americans will not be tolerated."

It is Politico that said it found out about the memo and obtained a copy.

"People who intentionally spread the coronavirus could face criminal charges under federal terrorism laws, the Justice Department’s No. 2 official said Tuesday," the publication reported.

"Rosen did not say whether any such threats or intentional exposures had been reported or whether his warning was simply precautionary," the report explained.

The Washington Examiner noted a New Jersey man already has been charged with making terrorist threats after he coughed on a grocery store worker, and claimed to have coronavirus.

NYC & NY-State require a total lock down, its their wokeness which is now driving the spread and nobody is doing anything to check them... Understand, they are fleeing their little leftist shithole state, and infecting everyone else everywhere else! The UP of Michigan, and Northern Wisconsin must immediately order any NY tagged vehicles to turn right around and go directly back to NY, or else...
