a west virginia family took in a foreign exchange student from prague.
come hunting season, they took him on his first hunt. put him on the
right flank and proceeded to ascend short mountain. directly they heard
a foreinger yelling bloody murder and two bears ripping him to shreads.
the head of the clan got the DNR man to come up from town to track down
the bears. both tracked the bears to a box canyon. DNR guy draws his
44 mag and asks the father, " which one ate your buddy? the boar or sow? "
the bigger one did, he repied. so the DNR guy shot the boar and allowed the
sow to run past. they cut open the big bears stomach and it was empty.
wanna know the moral of the story?

I heard that story, it was told a little differently, but , the same premise.

I think it's entirely acceptable to feel for both. The hunter and hunters family etc, and, the cubs minus a mother.

The hunters knew the dangers, and it is sad...but they knew. Bears are bears living in a hostile environment, and even top of their local food chain gets killed by humans etc...and with cubs left behind it is sad.

"I told you the economy was going to tank under Trump". "Yeah you did. Pre Pandemic". "It was going to tank even without the Pandemic". "Uh-huh. Trumps economy was hitting it out of the park Pre Pandemic." <---My cut and paste time saving signature - for all the doom and gloom predictors who will try to rewrite history.
