1 dead in self-defense shooting in Lake Charles casino robbery

One person is dead following a casino robbery in Lake Charles on Thursday. Police say it was self-defense.

The Lake Charles Police Department was assigned to EZ Aces Truck Stop located on the I-10 Service Road at 5:00 am in reference to a robbery.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that two people had been shot; one fatally, according to Lieutenant Jeffrey Keenum, spokesperson for the Lake Charles Police Dept.

Police say the two suspects were in the process of brutally attacking the victim within the casino when the victim was able to shoot them.

There has got to be a lot more to this story for them to attack someone "in" a casino. Casino's usually have security so I'm wondering what went down. If there wasn't a back story then I'm assuming alcohol was involved.

I’m assuming that carrying a pistol in a casino is illegal. There has to be a lot more to this.

Either way, one dead criminal is a really good thing.

Carrying in a Casino is like carrying in a Post Office

Casinos are a hot spot for opportunist robberies. Criminal garbage will target a big winner and follow them outside to hit their own little jackpot.

This is not exactly a high-quality casino like one usually thinks of. Think "Amish truck stop with gambling"...lol.

Absolutely true. Casino Parking lots are an extremely high risk environment particularly at night.
