To me 'progressive' has a basic meaning from the root word 'progress' but a specific political meaning assigned in the McCarthy Era.
'Forward' I think of as being from 2014 onward as applied to Industry 4.0 but others might apply it to the post 1975 economy.
In a previous forum I attempted to get people to agree on just the meanings of the two terms 'Left' and 'Right' and failed completely so I have given up on terms altogether and now I assume all terms have only a local meaning within a specific context.
I'm easy to talk to, it's just that terminology in particular has given me a lot of grief since coming to the US so I tend to avoid it when ever possible.

Yes that's absolutely right; the Information Revolution underpins pretty much everything in Industry 4.0
